Mark Costa shared thisMark Costa shared thisWe're delighted to announce the launch of our market-first programmatic digital OOH offering for newsstands across New York, in partnership with JCDecaux North America. Advertisers will be able to serve DOOH adverts programmatically on newsstands, which are a group of synchronized screens of different sizes. The synchronized newsstand digital screens are able to play a creative, or a set of creatives, across all the screens at the same time. VIOOH's CEO, Jean-Christophe Conti said: “This new offering enables advertisers to have more flexibility with their pDOOH creatives. By combining VIOOH’s programmatic DOOH capabilities with JCDecaux’s premium and strategically placed newsstands, brands can take advantage of the precision targeting and measurability of programmatic with the effectiveness of high-impact and multi-screen OOH inventory.” Read the full release here: https://hubs.li/Q01mR4gN0 #DOOH #OOH #Programmatic #Media #Advertising #NewYork #US #NewsstandsVIOOH and JCDecaux North America Launch Programmatic DOOH Capability for New York Digital NewsstandsVIOOH and JCDecaux North America Launch Programmatic DOOH Capability for New York Digital Newsstands

Mark Costa liked thisMark Costa liked thisLast week I finished my summer internship at JCDecaux North America. I turned up in July barely knowing New York, probably the youngest person in the Empire State Building, and not really sure what to expect. Ten weeks later I was genuinely sad to leave. I got to do proper work. I built a tool the sales team now uses in the production CRM to clean up client records and make sense of company hierarchies, and I spent time checking how accurate our street displays' bus predictions are against the MTA's live data. First code reviews, first standups, first merge requests. Learned fast that asking a question early beats sitting there stuck for three hours pretending you're fine. The best part was the people. Everyone was busy and still made time to explain things properly and trust me with work that mattered. A few colleagues even pulled me into a game they were building after hours, which might have been my favourite part of the whole summer. Thank you JCDecaux. Couldn't have asked for a better start. Off to Durham in October to study Computer Science.

Mark Costa liked thisMark Costa liked thisAs I wrap up my Marketing & Digital Innovation internship at JCDecaux North America, I would like to recap on a few highlights from the summer. I had the chance to write articles and newsletter content on airport, street furniture advertising, and travel trends. I developed LinkedIn and social content across JCDecaux’s markets as well as supporting client presentations with audience research and data analysis using Placer.ai, TransUnion, and Excel. Thank you to Renaud Couillens and Mark Costa for their leadership and for trusting me with meaningful work from day one, and to Nicki Diacik, Katarina Gomez, and the wider team for the feedback that made every piece better. It was a privilege to be part of JCDecaux’s largest intern class to date. Excited to carry what I learned into what comes next.

Mark Costa liked thisMark Costa liked thisIMHO the enterprise AI adoption cycle is just another example of tech adoption game theory. If you have a solid, defensible business, then often the smartest move is to watch, test a little and see what happens. If the tech takes off, there'll be vendors who can sell you solutions to accelerate your team. If you're big, you can acquire companies. The moat is key. (e.g. Apple) OTOH if you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it's low risk or you have nothing to lose, then carpe diem !!!! (e.g. Cursor) The telcos did this in the late 1990s and won the broadband wars, not the upstarts. Microsoft, Google, Oracle all did this in search many times... Mark Costa liked thisMark Costa liked thisThe next evolution of the network is not more automation. It is autonomy. I recently spoke with Verizon CTO Yago Tenorio about the company's work toward Level 4 network autonomy and what happens when AI agents become, as Yago put it, "digital colleagues." One example stood out. Yago described prototypes in which incidents that previously took five to eight hours to resolve can be resolved within 90 seconds. "This is not about just doing what humans do today," he noted. "It's about doing things that humans can't possibly attain." That distinction is important. The ambition is not simply to automate existing work faster. It is to operate at a speed and level of granularity that allows Verizon to identify and address customer experience gaps that would otherwise be difficult to see or solve at scale. We also discussed the governance required to make this possible. Yago highlighted four principles for autonomous networks: observability, traceability, reversibility, and accountability. Every agent needs an identity, a defined scope, and clear guardrails. And ultimately, Yago emphasized that achieving a particular level of autonomy is not the objective. Better customer outcomes are. Our conversation also covers Verizon's rollout of Claude Code to 33,000 technology employees, the shift from human-operated to human-supervised work, and why data and domain expertise may prove more consequential than simply using the largest AI model. 🚀 The dream of programmatic linear TV is closer to reality. Comcast Advertising just made its entire linear TV inventory available for programmatic buying via FreeWheel — live, targetable, and biddable. President James Rooke says the goal is unified TV buying across linear and streaming. Instacart's off-site platform is a pure play verticalized retail media ad revenues opportunity at scale. This isn't just an expansion; it's a calculated move to become the ad network for CPGs, leveraging fragmented retail data to commoditise individual retailer networks. The core strategy is to aggregate CPG spend by offering a unified view across their 1800 retailer dataset. By providing CPGs with consolidated first party purchase data and a reported $5.25 grocery ROAS, Instacart is positioning itself as the indispensable media partner. This is a tendance I see in the retail industry, moving beyond on-site platform monetisation to actively target off-site platform budgets. Advertisers and agencies are looking for simplified and unified buys solutions and Instacart to now offering it. Instacart’s suggests they want to grab a much largest slice of the $10.13 billion to $10.28 billion GTV they facilitate. This move shows us how retailers view their own media network strategy. Relying solely on on-site inventory risks becoming a commoditised data provider to a larger aggregator. Retailers must now consider how to build defensible value beyond their owned properties, or risk seeing their ad revenue siphoned off by platforms like Instacart. If Instacart successfully aggregates CPG spend off platform, what defensible value remains for individual retailer media networks beyond their owned properties? Comment below if this topic is interesting to you of DM me. Anyway, well done Instacart, that's a good move. #RetailMedia #AdTech #CPG #Instacart

✅🖥️ AdExchanger (1/6): “NBCU is testing agentic systems that can automatically activate campaigns across its entire portfolio – including live sports programming on linear TV and streaming video. The initiative, in collaboration with …AI analytics vendor Newton Research, uses ad server FreeWheel to execute the buys. Are we headed for a world in which buy-side agents communicate directly with sell-side agents to set up campaigns? Yes, according to NBCU and its partners. Because campaign activation happens within the ad server, an agentic approach theoretically removes the need for DSPs and SSPs. But this is different from traditional programmatic, said Ryan McConville, NBCU’s chief product officer and EVP of ad products and solutions, because it sidelines the usual buying and selling platforms. Not that agents replace programmatic, said McConville. Rather, they sit on top of it. Because agentic solutions are separate from the OpenRTB spec, they can automate tasks that standard programmatic buying can’t (and were never meant) to handle, he said. For example, a DSP can automate the act of buying a curated deal ID, but setting up the deal ID – choosing what inventory to include and handling logistics – has been a manual process, McConville said. Agentic tech is good at automating those steps.” ⬇️ #streaming #programmatic #ai #ctv #avod #ssp #dsp #ott #ces2026 https://lnkd.in/eewKWfS9
