With the advent of television in Colombia, the daily went to the small screen in 1955. In 1961 the father decided to convene the primerBanquete Million, with the aim of collecting funds to build housing solutions for the poorest in the country.

Of these initiatives were both El Minuto de Dios neighborhood, archetypal model as an integral citadel, in the end, the Corporation ElMinuto of God, dedicated to community building and care of vulnerable populations across Colombia.

    Arts and Culture

The Festival de las Flores consists of several emblems that represent Colombian heritage; beautiful flowers that are imported from Antioquia, Colombia are paraded by “silleteros” while art, folklore, music, and poetry revitalize the streets.

As the centerpiece of the festival, the many artisan floral arrangements displayed are emblematic of Colombian heritage. It is only proper that our event be filled with Colombian pride; therefore, the Festival de las Flores has made it a practice to…

It is only proper that our event be filled with Colombian pride; therefore, the Festival de las Flores has made it a practice to transport “silleteros” from Colombia in order to create the “silletas” in our city.

From Living On The Street To Becoming A Successful Entrepreneur

Overcoming the odds to find happiness

Today, nearing forty, Eder is a successful New York entrepreneur in the online media industry and CEO of a digital marketing company. However, as a kid in the mid ’80s, he fled a frightening home life and wound up living for years on the streets of Medellin, Colombia. It was a dicey existence, in what was described during this era as the 'most dangerous place on earth'. where international drug lords like Pablo Escobar ruled, where you could be shot for looking at the wrong guy the wrong way.

Dreaming of Hope Street is the story of how he went from living in the streets to become a successful entrepreneur. The book is in the classic Coming-of-Age tradition, and proves that, though life can be ugly and brutal, even the most disadvantaged can overcome the odds and find happiness, their own Hope Street. The narrative steps along and rings with authenticity; it’s often sad, shocking, but ultimately uplifting and motivational.
