As such, there are a number of materials you can find in the game that look important but aren't. Where To Get Silver Ingots In Baldur's Gate 3
Silver Ingots are found far and wide in Baldur's Gate 3. You'll start seeing them from the moment you leave the tutorial all the way until the end of the game. However, some containers have a higher chance of dropping them than others. The places most likely to have Silver Ingots include:
- Chests (especially gilded or buried ones)
- Crates
- Special loot locations such as sarcophagi
Along with Silver Ingots, you can expect to find other types of ingots, such as Bronze, Steel, and Gold. Each has a different rarity and sell price, but all have a weight of 4.
Should You Sell Silver Ingots In Baldur's Gate 3?
Silver Ingots are well worth picking up to sell, as they are worth 50 gp each. However, many players start to wonder if they are making a mistake by offloading them all. Unless you meet very specific conditions, there is no use for ingots other than to generate cash. Even if you do get access to their secret use, you'll find many more than you need. It is perfectly fine to keep a handful and sell the rest.
How To Use Silver Ingots In Baldur's Gate 3
If you are one of the few players who ignored Shadowheart's Arc and focused on Karlach and Dammon, then you may receive access to a Crafting Bench for your troubles. The exact choices that can result in getting a crafting bench are unknown, but it is thought that you must complete the quest Our Fiery Friend - The Hellion's Heart successfully and completely. It is unclear whether romancing Karlach is a requirement or simply having a good but platonic relationship is enough.
This workbench is currently the only known place where ingots can be used, and the precise recipes are unknown. Several types of Ingots, including Silver and Bronze, can be combined in the workbench, hinting that both may be ingredients in some recipes. Because ingots are such a common resource, it is likely that there were plans for a more extensive crafting system that were abandoned during development.
If you missed out on this side quest, then you won't see a workbench at all and must rely on other crafted gear, such as those forged during the Masterwork Weapon Quest or things you find from enemies. Luckily, there are enough magic items floating around in the game to sate Gale while still keeping some for yourself.
