Cosmetics in Soulframe are items which purely serve to allow the Envoy to customise their appearance. Unlike Armor, they do not impact the player's stats. This page contains all the details regarding the cosmetic systems available in Soulframe, including Envoy Customisation, Palettes, Guides, and Motifs.
Envoy Customisation
At the start of your journey, your Envoy's initial appearance takes shape based on the physical traits you select for the Mother during the Warsongs. The only exception to this inheritance is the Envoy's sex, which is specifically chosen during the Torque Inquisitor segment of the Rise, Envoy prologue.
You aren't locked into these early choices, however. Once your adventure is underway, you can freely customise your appearance whenever you wish. Simply visit The Witch Verminia within the Nightfold to adjust your Hairstyle & Colour, Face & Eyes, or Gender & Complexion.
Historical Note: Before the Preludes 13 update, direct character customization wasn't an option in the game. Players had to rely entirely on the indirect trait inheritance from the Warsongs to shape their Envoy.
Cosmetic Categories Overview
Soulframe offers several ways to personalize your experience. The Cosmetics featured in the game are currently divided into the following systems:
- Envoy Customisation - Direct modifications to your player character's physical traits, including body type and hair.
- Palettes - Collectible colour swatches used to dye your Envoy's armour. Take these to The Witch Verminia to apply your new colors.
- Guides - Unique alternate appearances for your Spirit Guide, which can be swapped out at the Arsenal inside the Nightfold.
- Motifs - Custom avatars for your player profile, visible both in-game and on the official forums.
Note that when you gather Fragments to Brew a new colour scheme, the resulting item is officially labeled a Figment in the game's UI. However, for the sake of simplicity, the community and this wiki generally just use the term "Palette" interchangeably.
