Synopsis

I loved what Gunn did with THE BATMAN. I have been a huge fan, not so much of the comic books, but the live action iterations of Batman since Adam West in the 60’s. I just hope Gunn and others keep their films in the PG-13 range for the kids and adults who want to share the films with them. Let’s have some fun!

Been sitting on this film for a while but when I got round to watching it I wasn't disappointed. A very very good movie. I wouldn't be opposed to Robert playing the batman again. He doesn't make for a compelling Bruce Wayne, but then I think his character in this adaptation is flawed. As batman however he is gritty, aggressive and more than capable.
Would highly recommend.

This movie brings a darker, more gritty Batman that really hits those film noir vibes. It’s the kind of shadowy, brooding atmosphere that feels like the Batman we’ve been waiting for—raw, intense, and unapologetically grim. Is it better than Nolan’s take? Honestly, I’m not sure. For me, this version suits my taste more. It leans hard into the detective noir style, which fits Batman’s character perfectly.
Gotham has never looked so beautifully dark. On top of that, this Batman relies on low-tech gadgets, which makes everything feel more grounded.

I never would have pegged Robert Pattinson as a pick to play Batman, but he certainly delivers. Everything about this movie delivers, feeling like a grittier and more grounded take on Batman instead of the more cartoonish versions seen in the past. The cartoonish versions aren't bad, but Pattinson's version of the character feels like a breath of fresh air and is certainly one you want to see go toe-to-toe with new interpretations of Batman villains.

A brooding, Noir/serial killer take on Batman that misses the landing by going too big at the last minute. Paul Dano's Riddler is a fantastic, unique approach that connects with real-life horror stories.

The Batman offers a fresh take on one of the most popular superheroes of all time, diving deep into the detective aspect of the character, and showing us a darker side of the iconic Gotham City. It's an outstanding crime thriller with terrific acting from Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravtiz, and Paul Dano. Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, and Andy Serkis are also fantastic. The movie itself has great cinematography and action sequences, and is very well-written. Matt Reeves at his best.

One of the best comic book movies I have ever seen. It gets by on the sheer amount of atmosphere felt throughout. I love every moment of this thing and Robert Pattinson is my favorite Batman to ever be on screen. I could live in The Batman's universe forever.

This is one of the best Batman movies in my opinion. I love Robert Pattinson and thought he was a fantastic choice for the role. The atmosphere of this movie was gritty and dark and it works very well and made me feel immersed in the world of the story.

My dream Batman movie. It is incredibly grounded, yet doesn't dwell too much in the darkness and actually shows a Batman who represents the character's themes perfectly, a dark avenger who becomes a creature of the night to bring out the light. Even my most pressing concern, The Riddler, completely surprised me, as despite his radical redesign, he still felt faithful to the core of the character. Strong cast, gorgeous cinematography, an all-time great Superhero movie.

After the lackluster portrayal of Batman in the DCEU, The Batman was a return to form with a hauntingly dark story and an intimidating depiction of the hero to match. Fortunately, the film still did a great job of portraying its version of Batman as a hero despite all the darkness, and it makes for a great start to what's bound to become another iconic film franchise for the character.

Genuinely one of the best iterations of Batman to date. The Batman manages to capture the dark and gritty reality of Gotham, the anger and rage of Batman, and the struggle to exist with the mask of Bruce Wayne, all beautifully shot and performed. From the visuals, to the dialogue, and the overall storytelling, it's incredible. I love this early Batman story, and can't wait to see where they take him next!
