I personally lived in my home state of New Mexico during the pandemic so i can tell you from experience that it wasn't even close to home this movie depicts it, In some places it was better some worse so it depends on where you lived..

We left this movie about 90 minutes in. The story line was slow, character development was confusing, and the stars accepting this script must not have read it. Save your money. Very disappointing!

While it runs a bit too long and starts off slowly, Eddington is a film that succeeds in having strong performances and a thrilling, chaotic climax.

Eddington targets interesting, timely topics with its 2020 setting, featuring over-the-top characters weaving through COVID-19 conspiracies and BLM riots in the least nuanced way possible. It's also too slow and oddly uninteresting, leading to a fast-paced but ultimately goofy finale.
Great actors with little to work with and not a satisfying watch. Difficult to recommend this one to anyone valuing their time.

Utterly brilliant. The acting incredible. The long shots of Joe walking and the inaudible confusion and despair in a time when all has been impotentized by brainwashing, advertising, FB, devices, devisiveness and knee jerk responses to constant breaking news has annulled our humanity. I have seen it twice and want to see it at least 10 more times. Hilarious dark comedy is the only way to really spell out the time we are living when reality TV makes you dead. I love the slow, slow introduction to NM villages and the characters found there. Joaquin Phoenix is a genius, the opposite of his role in JOKER. Ari Aster is a master of now.
