Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 was held earlier this week, delivering the latest news and announcements. If you’re a Nintendo Switch 2 fan, there were actually quite a number of games shown off here for you.
The Witcher 3 Remastered, Worms: Galactic Tactics, Acornia: Mirror Worlds, Age Twisters, 1001 Threads of Mizan, and LEGO Skylines were announced. There were also updates on Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, Mega Man: Dual Override, and more.

[Let’s Talk] Have you ever been to a gaming expo?

In just a few days, Gamescom will be kicking off. The annual event in Germany has, at this point, become the largest gaming expo in the world. Thousands of people attend every year to try out upcoming titles from various developers and publishers.
Of course, Gamescom isn’t the only expo around. Another big one is happening next month – that being Tokyo Game Show. In the past, there was E3 – though it’s sadly no more. There are other events like PAX and Comic-Con as well.

[Let’s Talk] Your experience with Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the most legendary games of all time. It’s highly acclaimed by critics and adored by fans. The good thing is that it’s been available on many different Nintendo systems over the years.
Obviously we initially saw Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64. Beyond that though, there have been many different re-releases. It was on the Wii and Wii U Virtual Consoles as well as Nintendo Switch Online for Switch 2 and Switch. On the GameCube, it was included in the Zelda: Collector’s Edition compilation for GameCube. On Nintendo 3DS, there was the Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D remaster.

Nintendo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down with new releases. Just a couple of days ago, the company shipped Splatoon Raiders.
Splatoon Raiders is the first entry in the franchise exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, it’s notable since the game focuses on single-player rather than multiplayer. The action shooter has you playing as a mechanic working with Deep Cut as you raid the Spirhalite Islands for undiscovered spoils while fending off hordes of Salmonids.

[Let’s Talk] Do you prefer Mario Kart World or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

After more than a decade, Nintendo finally shipped a brand new console Mario Kart game with Mario Kart World. It certainly had a lot to live up to. Mario Kart 8 already had a strong reception on Wii U, but things only went up from there after the Nintendo Switch version and new DLC later on.
Mario Kart World had a tougher time out of the gate. Immediately, the big talking point was its $80 price tag. And when it finally released, while it’s undoubtedly a great game, some were left disappointed. Still, Nintendo has propped the game up with various updates – including one which just added new Knockout Tour routes.
With the discussion surrounding these two racers, do you prefer Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Mario Kart World? If you tried Mario Kart World, have you gone back to 8 Deluxe as your main Mario Kart experience? Let us know in the comments.

One of the major talking points in the gaming industry over the last week or so is PlayStation’s decision to pull the plug on physical games. Starting in January 2028, Sony is ending production of discs. Right now it’d be pretty much impossible to find any positive reactions to the news.
PlayStation would probably defend its decision in bringing up how more and more people continue to buy games digitally. Interest in physical titles has been on a mostly steady decline, so the company may have felt that production costs weren’t worth it. Still, there is a core group interested in having a game they can actually hold in their hands.

Star Fox is back after a little more than a decade with its latest game on Nintendo Switch 2. With the title having been out for a couple of days, we want to know what you think of it so far.
