Background

[edit | edit source]

Yong-Rae is a young art graduate from the University of San Andreas, Los Santos and the son of two of Mr. Faber's clients. His idle dialogue suggests he was raised in Europe, while his name indicates that he is of Korean descent. He jokes that he considers himself French because he experienced Paris Syndrome when he was 15 years old.

Faber promised Yong-Rae's parents he would find a way to make him rich, which led to him to hire Yong-Rae to become an art counterfeiter. Yong-Rae refers to Faber as "Uncle Faber" and is a close friend of Raf De Angelis. Although he considers himself an anti-capitalist, he wants to use his money to buy a Cinquemila luxury sedan because he enjoys the speed of Raf's personal vehicle.

Despite having social media and a Pester account, he mostly prefers to be left alone. He enjoys practicing yoga and will comment on the yoga setup on the roof of the Prix Luxury Mansion.

In 2026, Yong-Rae joined Mr. Faber and Raf De Angelis in planning the Kortz Center robbery, targeting several valuable paintings from the late Albert Crisp's art collection currently on display at the museum. For each targeted painting, Yong-Rae forges an convincing replica, which the protagonist will swap in during the heist.

While Yong-Rae is forging the Kortz Center's artwork, the Prix Luxury AI Concierge regularly commends his talent, suggesting that he should eventually invest his time in creating original art instead of replicas.
