GTA Wiki:Policy

The following is a list of policies applied on the GTA Wiki.

Policy refers to the way users are expected to behave and communicate on the wiki. All users, regardless of status and position, are expected to follow our policies. None of these are ever set in stone, however. Anyone who disagrees with a policy is welcome to suggest changes on the policy talk page, an admin's talk page or on the Community Noticeboard. Bureaucrats and Administrators may issue blocks in the case of violation of these Policies. If you're unsure and you have any questions regarding any policy, then please contact a Staff member, as we do our best to help editors.

GTA Wiki Policies

Appreciation

All users are encouraged to show their appreciation towards other editors.

Assume Good Faith

Assume that the other editors on the Wiki mean well.

Blocking

Staff members must ensure to follow blocking protocol and only block users in the right circumstances.

Checkuser

Staff members at GTA Wiki do not have either Checkuser or Oversight rights.

Civility

Be civil in your dealings with others. No personal attacks, unnecessarily abusive language, patronizing behavior, baiting, etc.

Copying or importing

Wholesale copying of content to or from Grand Theft Wiki is not acceptable.

Disputes

Handle disagreements in a fair and constructive manner.

Edit Warring

Abuse of "undo" or "rollback" tools is not acceptable.

Fan-fiction

Fan-fiction is not allowed outside of User Sandboxes.

Featured Articles

Featured Articles represent the highest standard of quality on GTA Wiki.

Leaked Content

Content containing information or imagery obtained through illegal means may not be posted.

Manual of Style

Articles should follow a dedicated style to ensure standardisation.

Modifications

Documentation of otherwise insignificant modifications is not permitted.

Multiple Accounts

Abuse of alternative accounts to avoid blocks or warnings is not tolerated.

Myths

Unsourced mythical content is not permitted on the GTA Wiki.

No Shrines for Vandals

Vandals and spammers should not have monuments to their "success".

Oddjob-ing & Jobsworth-ing

Staff members must ensure their contributions are to a high standard.

Ownership

The GTA Wiki is a public domain, and no editor owns anything. If you post anything here, expect it to be edited mercilessly.

Talk Pages

Discussions in Talk pages should be civilized and tidy.

Usernames

Usernames must not be deliberately offensive, misleading or otherwise problematic.

Vandalism

Edits intended to harass others, or degrade an article's quality, are not tolerated.

Wikilawyering

The rules are subjective and are not verbatim.

Warning

Staff members may warn users if they are not following the Policy.
