Piercing Swords are a Weapon Category in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Piercing Swords are long and thin blades specifically focused on thrust and counter combat. They are a good choice for attacking heavy armored foes, as their attacks will break Poise and deal critical damage. These swords have a unique and fast moveset enables players to execute rapid consecutive attacks, further enhanced by the kick moveset which is a horizontal swipe attack that enable players to reach farther. Piercing Swords can also be wielded in the left-hand, used to parry.

All Piercing Swords have a hidden +40 critical damage bonus, on top of their listed critical damage.

  • Pros: Lightweight. Good Dexterity scaling. Deals fast thrust damage, very high critical damage, can parry easier, break block and poise, and has an aggressive far-reaching moveset
  • Cons: Low attack power, limited choice, only Thrust Damage.
