- Upcasting: Affects an extra target for each Spell Slot Level above 1st.
- Despite a range of 30ft/9m, due to how bane's targeting works it can affect creatures up to 60ft/18m away.
- Usually the player will not be able to specifically choose which three creatures are affected.
- The penalty from bane is easy to miss, as it is applied silently. Hovering the cursor over the die roll will show an an unnamed penalty being applied.
- Differences from D&D 5th Edition: In 5E, the caster may specifically choose the targets, but they must all be within 30ft.
AnonymousDon’t destroy a specific mirror or you’ll have the effect forever

AnonymousDoes the invocation bane still use up a spell slot? Is it a waste of space? Because the mage armor one is free.

AnonymousSome environmental causes. Destroying the mirror in the Entrance Hall of Auntie Ethel's hideaway (and setting free the ghost inside) inflicts Bane on the character that destroys it.

AnonymousSeems the most asked question here is: Why does my character have bane everytime I use a weapon?

AnonymousBad spell, use blessing instead. Bane takes spell slot and has to go through saving throws, plus takes concentration slot. Hit or miss type of spell. While blessing gives reverse effect on your party members without any saving throws.

AnonymousIf you have the gloves of power or w.e its called the flavor text says you need the absolutes mark so you get afflicted with bane as well

AnonymousEvery attack from my main causes her to gain Bane. Why? Glitch?

AnonymousI have a halfling character and whenever I use a melee attack I'm inflicted with bane. Anyone know why?

AnonymousHi, why is there a 10 number above the symbol of the spell in the game?

Harold the Crossbow, that you get from Zarys in the Zhentarim Hideout as part of Find the Missing Shipment quest, can apply Bane after a hit if the target fails a Charisma saving throw.
