You distinguished yourself on the field of battle fighting a violent Skaenite uprising, and the emperor honored you with a place among the elite Tall Grass spearmen. Some of your scars are less obvious than others, but you wear them all with pride.

War Hero is a Background in Avowed. Devoted as a War Hero, the emperor holds your loyalty, determination, and combat skills in high regard.  A background is part of a character's biography that defines their origin and specialization, choosing a background provides unique dialogue options and determines your starting weapon. Regardless of the background chosen by the player, all equipment and abilities remain fully accessible and available for use.
