Zombies in Graveyard Keeper are essentially free labor, and they can be used to mine at a quarry, craft at workbenches, and even write books. However, to unlock these helpers, players will need to progress through some of the main quests, such as meeting Snake and unlocking the gate with him.
Graveyard Keeper: How to Get The Cauldron
The Cauldron is only needed to complete the first quest that Clotho gives players in Graveyard Keeper and doesn't appear in the game again after that.
Unlocking The Gate With Snake To Find Gunter
Players may already want to help Snake unlock the gate beneath the main character's house in order to unlock the stamp for meat packages. Getting through this gate will also mean speaking to Gunter, a chained-up zombie who can point players in the right direction.
The Keepers Key & Instructions
Snake will give players Instructions for a key, but they will need to obtain the Keepers Key from the Astrologer, who is found at the lighthouse in the east, but only on the blue day.
With both the Instructions and the Keepers Key in their inventory, players can study these at the Study Table beneath the church, unlocking the Active Key, which is given to Snake and unlocks the gate.
Talking With Gunter
Once through the gate, players can explore the new area, and there are two things to look out for.
- Talk to Gunter, a chained-up zombie in one of the rooms.
- Unlock blueprints for the Resurrection Table & Porter Station at the cabinet next to him.
- Find 3x Zombie Juice in the broken cabinet next to Gunter.
If players head into the dungeon from here at Snake's behest, follow this guide to find the Bucket of Blood and Bloody Nails in Graveyard Keeper.
Finding The Buried Zombies & Their Gear
Gunter will tell players about some buried zombies and their gear north of the church. To get here, follow the road north of the church through the first passage. There should be broken apiaries on the right as the road bends, and then further north is the blocked passage. Players will also want to bring crafting supplies with them, such as planks, iron parts, and wedges, as there is a blockage to repair.
On the right of this rubble, players can dig to discover new blueprints for zombies, and they will also find two zombies to carry back and put to work.

How To Put Zombies To Work
Zombies can be picked up like logs, and then players must carry them over to a workstation. At the station, such as a Sawhorse, set some work to be done. Then pick up the zombie, and when near, there should be an option to 'Put' them at this workstation. They will keep working until everything is complete.
This saves time and energy. There are also Port Stations and Mills for the zombies to work at and deliver their products.
Graveyard Keeper: Tips For Beginners
Graveyard Keeper is a farming sim with a macabre twist. For players just starting out, here are a few key tips.
How To Resurrect New Zombies
In order to resurrect new zombies in Graveyard Keeper, players will need to craft a Resurrection Table in the Morgue. They will also need:
- 1 Fresh Body
- 1 Zombie Juice
- 10 Faith
Bodies must be at 90% or over to be considered fresh, so make sure to pay attention to deliveries.
Fresh bodies are delivered regularly as long as players feed the donkey with carrots and give him Seed Oil for his cart wheels. Players should also have 3x Zombie Juice from the cabinet next to Gunter, but more Zombie Juice can be made at an Alchemy Workbench out of 1 Health Powder and 1 Blood.
As for Faith, this can be gained by performing successful church sermons each week.
