The quest begins with The Dark Veil, which sets the tone for everything that follows. Go to the Goldleaf Tradepost, not far from where you wrapped up the previous quest in Hernand.

Here, you’ll meet Shakatu, who hints that the Goldleaf Merchant Guild is not as clean as it appears. While you don’t get the full picture yet, it’s clear something corrupt is unfolding behind the scenes.

As you move through the area, keep an eye on your minimap for Sealed Abyss Artifacts. These are easy to miss if you rush, but they’re worth collecting since they unlock skills and upgrades that will help later, especially during tougher boss fights.

The Flames of Greed

Next, the pace picks up quickly in The Flames of Greed mission. After speaking to nearby NPCs, you’ll learn that a healer has refused to cooperate with the Goldleaf faction. As such, bandits have retaliated by setting his house on fire. Now, you will have to travel to the Unicorn Cliff.

When you reach the house, it’s already engulfed in flames. This is where things get tense. Someone is trapped inside, and you only have a limited time to act. The entrance is blocked by burning debris, so you’ll need to use Nature’s Grasp to clear the way.

Once inside, the objective is clear but stressful. Avoid stepping into fire patches as much as possible, grab the trapped person, and carry them out before time runs out. The timer is forgiving, but hesitation or poor positioning can still cause you to fail. This section is less about combat and more about awareness and movement.

Kidnapped Healer

After the rescue, you’ll learn that the real target, Hubert the healer, has been kidnapped. This gives you a new mission: to track down the Kidnapped Healer.

Travel to Hernand Highlands where the bandits are hiding. Along the way, you’ll run into small groups of enemies that are easy to deal with. This is a good chance to gather extra gear and resources, even if most of the equipment won’t outperform what you already have.

The bandit camp itself is pretty manageable. You can approach it aggressively or take a stealthier route by sneaking up on enemies for quick eliminations. Either way, this part isn’t overwhelming.

Once you clear the camp, free Hubert to complete the objective.

Before leaving, take some time to explore the area. There are useful crafting materials like Peonies nearby, which become valuable later when you unlock certain recipes. You’ll also find consumables and possibly another Abyss Artifact if you look carefully.

Rebellion or Revolution

The next phase, Rebellion or Revolution, brings you back to Shakatu, but things don’t go as expected. Instead of a peaceful meeting, you’re suddenly attacked by his men due to a misunderstanding. This fight is slightly more demanding than previous ones. If you rely too heavily on basic attacks, you’ll struggle to break their defenses.

The best approach here is to mix in heavy attacks, grapples, or shield-breaking techniques. If you’ve unlocked abilities using Abyss Artifacts, now is the time to use them. Well-timed parries can also create openings, making the fight much easier.

Once the soldiers are defeated, you’ll finally get a proper conversation with Shakatu. He explains the situation and offers you a deal. In exchange for taking down Hornsplitter, he’ll reward you and help restore order to the region.

Before you start the last section of the End of Greed quest, cook some food at nearby camps and make sure your inventory is stocked with healing items. You should also unlock any abilities you’ve been holding off on. Even basic upgrades to your gear can make a noticeable difference here.

The final stretch, Cheers Echoing from the Edge, takes you back to Unicorn Cliff. To reach Hornsplitter’s camp, you’ll have to take down a large group of enemies. The smart thing to do here is to use the environment to your advantage by knocking enemies off the cliff. This is one of the easiest ways to take out the group without taking too much damage.

If you prefer direct combat, wide attacks like Turning Slash can help deal with multiple enemies at once.

Once you clear the entrance, head into the camp. Make sure not to attack any non-hostile NPCs inside.

How to Beat Kailok

Kailok is the final boss in the End of Greed quest. He constantly creates distance before launching powerful ranged attacks. His wind-based slashes travel in straight lines, so the best way to avoid them is by dodging sideways and gradually closing the gap. When he closes in, he follows a predictable pattern with a forward slash and an overhead attack. Both can be blocked, giving you a chance to counterattack.

One of the most important mechanics in this fight is stagger. Heavy attacks and special abilities build up his stagger meter, and once it’s full, you can unleash a powerful finisher.

Kailok also has an unblockable attack signaled by a red flash. When you see this, don’t hesitate. Dodge immediately to avoid taking heavy damage. After he lands, there’s a brief window where he’s vulnerable, so use that opportunity to strike. During the fight, you’ll unlock the Evasive Roll ability, which lets you recover quickly after being hit and reposition yourself more effectively.

End of Greed Quest Rewards

Once you defeat Kailok, the End of Greed quest comes to an end. You’ll receive your rewards, which include resources like Copper and Iron Ore, along with more valuable items such as an Abyss Artifact, a Medium Bag, and the Sword of the Lord.
