All Officer Quest Walkthroughs & Requirements in AC Black Flag Resynced

During your adventure in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you'll come across plenty of brand-new side activities that weren't part of the original game. Whether it's searching for Blackbeard's Treasure, helping Captain Stede Bonnet, or decorating Edward's manor, there's always something waiting off the main path.

Another major addition is the Officer Quests, which allow Edward to recruit three experienced naval officers to join the Jackdaw. While you don't have to finish every quest in an officer's storyline to recruit them, completing every mission will give you additional rewards and more insight into their story. If you're unsure where any quest starts or what you need to do next, this guide has you covered.

How to Recruit Lucy Baldwin in AC Black Flag Resynced

A Proper Shipwright

• Unlock Requirement: Complete Sequence 4: This Old Cove.

To begin Lucy's questline, sail to Salt Key Bank and dock your ship. Rather than heading onto the island, swim over to the nearby prison ship and climb aboard.

You can quietly eliminate the guards or fight everyone head-on before making your way into the confinement area. Lucy Baldwin is locked inside one of the cells, so interact with the door to free her. Just as you're about to leave, the British Fleet arrives to stop your escape. Sink every enemy ship, and the mission will end.

The One With the Gun

Go to the tavern in Great Inagua to meet Lucy again. Edward will try convincing her to officially join the crew before offering to show her around the island. Simply follow the objective marker through the village as Edward and Lucy stop to chat along the way. Eventually, you'll reach the manor where another cutscene plays.

Lucy officially joins your crew here, unlocking the Perfect Brace ability for the Jackdaw. If you press the brace button just before an enemy ship attacks, you'll significantly reduce the damage taken.

The quest isn't over just yet. Travel to Black Island and meet Lucy there. Follow her through the jungle while clearing out the guards before entering the manor.

Inside, interact with:

• Baldwin's will is upstairs on the table.
• Barrister's Letter downstairs on another table.

After examining both items, follow the objective marker to Lucy to trigger one final cutscene. Leave Black Island to finish the quest.

Plantain!

Head back to the tavern in Great Inagua and wait for Lucy. After discussing plantain, walk with her towards Edward's manor until she suddenly challenges you to a race. Winning doesn't unlock any rewards, although it does change a small piece of dialogue. Either way, once the cutscene finishes, so does the quest.

Big Wig

Lucy can now be found in Havana. Meet her there, and she'll explain that her grandfather once owned a cabin north of town. Make your way to the marked beach where you'll encounter the Barrister and his men.

Defeat every enemy, then look east to find a spade sticking out of the ground. Dig up the buried treasure to conclude Lucy's storyline.

How to Recruit The Padre in AC Black Flag Resynced

A Second Chance

• Unlock Requirement: Complete Sequence 4: This Old Cove.

Travel to Caracol on the eastern side of the map and speak with the Padre. After the cutscene, you'll need to talk to three villagers.

Two of them simply have a short conversation with Edward, while Dinah Calverley asks you to bring her some food. Once you've spoken to everyone, return to the Padre to complete the quest.

Loyalty, Discipline, and Courage

Travel to Cumberland Bay and clear out the enemies occupying the camp. Interact with the paper attached to the barrel to discover that Du Casse's men are heading towards the Padre's village. Return there immediately and speak with the Padre.

He'll officially join your crew and reward you with the Ram Dash ability for the Jackdaw, allowing you to charge straight into enemy ships for devastating hull damage.

If Thy Right Hand Offend Thee

• Unlock Requirement: Complete A World Without Gold.

Travel to Cape Bonavista and eliminate Du Casse's men. Speak with the Padre before following him into the nearby cave. Clear out another six enemies, then investigate the clues.

The clues are:

• The open container filled with Du Casse's weapons.
• The wine bottles beside the barrels.
• The Bishop's Orders are attached to the tree further ahead.

Finding all three clues completes the mission.

The Other Cheek

Meet the Padre in Kingston's marketplace. After the cutscene, you need to uncover the Bishop's location by investigating three clues. The clues are:

• A warning notice pinned to the board in the middle of the market.
• An invitation letter carried by one of two civilians talking near the shore beside the barn. You will need to loot this.
• A conversation near the docks where civilians mention the Bishop's secret prayers in the forest.

Return to the Padre once you've gathered every clue. Follow him through the forest, defeat all enemies protecting the Bishop, then eliminate the Bishop himself to finish the entire questline.

How to Recruit Tobias "Deadman" Smith in AC Black Flag Resynced

No Box Dark Enough

• Unlock Requirement: Complete A World Without Gold: I Just Want to Talk.

Meet Tobias in Great Inagua before sailing together to Petite Caverne. After docking, fight through the British soldiers with Tobias until you reach the commander hiding at the end of the cavern. Kill him to complete the mission.

All Love Must End

Travel to Crooked Island to continue Tobias' storyline. After arriving, rescue all four captured villagers while dealing with the British soldiers occupying the area. Once everyone is safe, head over to Deadman's house to wrap up the mission.

Very Little, But Something

Return to Great Inagua and speak with Tobias one last time. You'll unlock Deadman's Cohort Mortar for the Jackdaw before sailing towards the mission marker.

A large naval battle follows, so make good use of your new mortar attack while avoiding destroying ships outright. Instead, weaken them enough to board. This lets you restore the Jackdaw's health, which is extremely useful considering how many enemy ships you'll be fighting.

Once every hostile vessel has been sunk, Tobias' questline comes to an end.
