After the Golden Week break following Weekly Shonen Jump issue 22-23, One Piece officially returned with chapter 1182 today on May 10, 2026. With Elbaph rapidly moving towards its final battle, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, revealed some massive lore in the latest chapter, and at the same time, set up some of the most exciting battles as well. Perhaps the biggest reveal that came in One Piece Chapter 1182 was that of the Rain God Zaza. After being teased, after being name-dropped in the series in Chapter 287 around 23 years ago, this God has now officially made its debut through the ability of none other than Saint Rimoshifu Killingham of the Holy Knights.

One Piece Chapter 1182 Officially Reveals Rain God Zaza Through Killingham's Dream Manifestation

One Piece Chapter 1182 gave its fair share of attention to the Holy Knights, specifically Saint Killinham. After being powered up by an Omen from Nerona Imu. Killingham stated that his body was overflowing with energy. This power from Imu's Omen directly boosts Killingham's physical attributes but also his Devil Fruit ability. As officially confirmed in One Piece Chapter 1143, Saint Killingham possesses the power of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin. This is a very unique Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit that has the power of dream manifestation. Killingham can produce anything that he or anyone around him dreams of and make it real. He can also turn nightmares of other people into reality, and a fraction of that power was officially shown in Chapter 1182.

Usually, Saint Killingham manifests the dreams and nightmares of other people. In the latest chapter of One Piece, however, Saint Killingham manifested his own biggest fear, and this fear is none other than the Rain God Zaza. The Rain God Zaza is a name that most fans were waiting to be revealed ever since the reveal of the Sun God Nika four years ago in the Wano Country in Chapter 1044 of the manga. The Rain God was first mentioned in the Skypiea Arc of One Piece back in the Noland and Kalgara flashback in Chapter 287, which was released officially in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 37-38 in August 2003.

In this particular chapter, it was revealed that the Shandians considered the Rain God Zaza as one of the four gods, alongside the Sun God, the Earth God, and the Forest God, and Musse was seen being sacrificed to them directly. Now, about 23 years later, Eiichiro Oda has officially introduced the Rain God Zaza in the story through Killinham's MMA manifestation.

Why The Celestial Dragons Are Afraid Of The Rain God

MMA Zaza Betray World Government one piece

In One Piece Chapter 1182, it was officially confirmed that Saint Killingham and all the other Celestial Dragons fear the Rain God Zaza. This is specifically because the Celestial Dragons live above the clouds in the Holy Land of Marijoa. Given that they don't have any clouds above them, the Holy Land never gets any rain. For some reason, the Celestial Dragons fear this very rain.

We were born in a place so high, it's above all the rain clouds. Water coming down from the sky? It's a mysterious terror! After the people of D and Nika, it was the most common boogeyman they warned us about...that in the lower world, there's a monster called the Rain God that dumps water on top of your head! — Saint Killingham, One Piece Chapter 1182

As such, the children of Celestial Dragons are often told scary tales about the Rain God Zaza, who pelts the lower world with powerful rains and massive showers, flooding and sinking many in the process. Ever since Killingham was little, he was afraid of the Rain God and its immense capabilities. Similarly, Saint Somers also confirmed in One Piece Chapter 1182 that the Rain God Zaza is very dangerous and is not something that should be dreamed up. This confirms that the Rain God is an entity that every Celestial Dragon is afraid of, especially because they fear the damage it could do to them due to its ability to pelt heavy rains and cause torrential floods. This makes the Rain God one of their biggest enemies in the final war to come.

At the moment, Eiichiro Oda has not revealed the full capabilities of the Rain God Zaza. This is specifically because Zaza was only revealed as an MMA manifestation in Chapter 1182 of the series. This God is most certainly mythical in nature and exists in the form of a Devil Fruit, just like Sun God Nika. Luffy has the power of Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, and similarly, there exists a Devil Fruit called Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Zaza. This Devil Fruit and its owner have yet to be directly confirmed by Eiichiro Oda, which means that the vast majority of the powers that it holds remain unknown at this point in time. Still, Oda most certainly gave the fans a good glimpse of what Zaza could do in Chapter 1182.

Appearing to the rhythm of the prayers for rain...Rain God Zaza! — Saint Killingham, One Piece Chapter 1182

Zaza manifests as a giant God with a transparent body of water and can essentially cause torrential rainfall leading to massive floods. In just a minute, an entire village of Elbaph was completely sunk by the power of the Zaza MMA. In One Piece Chapter 1182, Zaza could also be seen gigantifying itself tremendously and producing up to four arms. As confirmed in the chapter, it also has a giant water ring behind its back, similar to Imu's Ring of Black Flames, through Omen. Through it, Zaza can utilize many water-based abilities, which makes this Devil Fruit a massive weakness for all other Devil Fruit users in the world of One Piece. By sinking the other Devil Fruit users that exist in the world, Zaza can essentially defeat the vast majority of the individuals who go up against it. This further explains why the Celestial Dragons fear it so much.

In Chapter 1182, the Rain God Zaza specifically took orders from Killingham and kidnapped the children of Elbaph. It is up to Sanji and the Straw Hat Pirates to stop this dream manifestation from completely destroying the land of the Giants. It is also possible that the Rain God Zaza will completely run amok, breaking free from Killingham's control, given its godly nature. As such, it is certainly not going to be easy to stop this beast, even though it is only a dream manifestation and not the real God. The upcoming chapters of One Piece are going to be incredibly important in that sense, as they will most certainly go on to reveal more lore about Rain God Zaza, as well as the past of this legendary deity, and perhaps even the identity of the person who holds this incredible Devil Fruit power right now.
