As the conversation around AI-native clouds gains momentum, it’s critical to move beyond the buzzwords and carefully assess the implications for our organizations. The promise of accelerating innovation can’t be overstated—AI-native infrastructures offer unprecedented capabilities that can fundamentally transform business outcomes. However, there’s an often-overlooked cost: the risk of platform lock-in. When innovation comes bundled with proprietary technologies and ecosystems, enterprises may find themselves entwined in one vendor’s trajectory, limiting future agility and negotiating power. This can ultimately stifle the very innovation AI-native clouds promise. What should enterprises do now? The key is to maintain an architectural mindset focused on flexibility, openness, and interoperability. Assess AI-native solutions for their ability to integrate, scale, and adapt as business and technology landscapes evolve. Investing in multi-cloud strategies, open standards, and data portability is more than good practice—it’s future-proofing your enterprise. As leaders, our role is to balance the drive for rapid adoption with the need for sustainable, long-term architectural choices. That balance could be the true differentiator in the AI-native era.

The Quantum Leap From Legacy Systems to Cloud-Native During a chilly autumn morning when I met with the leadership team of one of our longstanding clients. They spoke with a mix of pride and frustration about their legacy systems—once the engine of their success, now a heavy anchor in a fast-paced digital world. Their story resonated deeply with me. It wasn’t just about technology failing to keep pace; it was about the human struggle to adapt in an ever-changing landscape. Recent research reinforces this urgency. Gartner’s 2024 forecast predicts that by 2025, over 80% of enterprise workloads will operate on cloud-native platforms. This shift promises not only faster deployment cycles and enhanced scalability but also a reduction in operational costs by as much as 30%. For companies burdened by outdated systems, these figures offer hope and a clear path forward. At Devsinc, we embarked on our own journey towards cloud-native solutions driven by our commitment to our clients’ futures. I recall countless late nights spent brainstorming and re-engineering our processes. We embraced agile methodologies, established continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and reimagined our infrastructure to unlock new levels of efficiency. One memorable project involved a major retail client whose legacy systems were stifling innovation. After migrating to a cloud-native platform, their time-to-market was reduced by 40%, and defect rates dropped by 35% within just six months. Their renewed agility not only improved customer satisfaction but also reinvigorated their competitive edge. Yet, this transformation isn’t solely about technology; it’s about people. Shifting from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures means rethinking workflows, empowering teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. I’ve seen firsthand how this change can inspire creativity and resilience, transforming operational challenges into opportunities for growth. Embracing cloud-native is more than a technical upgrade—it’s a lifeline in today’s digital era. It offers the promise of agility, responsiveness, and long-term success. At Devsinc, we are dedicated to guiding our clients through this evolution with empathy, expertise, and unwavering support. The journey from legacy to cloud-native is challenging, but every step forward builds a future where technology truly serves us all. Let’s embrace this change together and create a landscape where innovation and human ingenuity drive us to new heights.

🚀 From Cloud Curiosity to Cloud Confidence - and Now, the AI Frontier When I first stepped into the world of cloud, it felt like stepping onto another planet. Limitless potential and unfamiliar terrain. We were explorers: curious, cautious, and yes, a little skeptical. Fast forward to today, and the public cloud isn’t just where we build - it’s how we think. The real turning point? We stopped treating cloud as a destination and started using it as a strategy. Modernization isn’t a single migration; it’s a discipline. It’s the commitment to continuously simplify, secure, and scale with intention. And when you embrace cloud-native design - containers, serverless, event-driven architectures - you don’t just move faster; you learn faster. That learning loop is where the competitive edge is forged. Over the past year, I’ve watched teams evolve from being “cloud-aware” to truly “cloud-native.” They’ve moved beyond lift-and-shift and started engineering for outcomes - decoupling legacy systems, modernizing data platforms, and designing services that are resilient by default. The results? Shorter release cycles. Better reliability. Freedom to innovate without asking yesterday’s infrastructure for permission. Now we’re entering a new era - one where AI isn’t a feature, it’s a foundation. On Amazon Web Services (AWS), the convergence of scalable compute, curated foundation models, and modern data pipelines lets us build intelligent systems that don’t just respond - they reason. The next wave of advantage lies in agentic AI: systems that act with context, trigger workflows, reconcile data, and collaborate with humans to accelerate outcomes. At NTT DATA, Inc., we’re embedding AI into everything - from engineering to customer experience to operations. Cloud-native architectures are letting us move from insight to impact at incredible speed. When well-governed data meets event-driven services and intelligent agents, you don’t just automate tasks - you amplify decisions. That’s not incremental innovation; that’s transformation. If you’re asking, “Where do we start?” or “How do we make this production-ready?”, here’s my take: ➡️ Anchor AI in your modernization roadmap. ➡️ Treat data quality, observability, security, and cost management as first-class citizens. ➡️ And design for agility — small services, clear interfaces, strong guardrails. If you’re navigating your cloud journey, accelerating modernization, or shaping your AI strategy, let’s connect. DM me or drop a comment — I’d love to exchange ideas on what’s working, what’s next, and how we can accelerate together. See you at re:Invent. We would like to share with you a report commissioned by Asian Development Bank that we just completed, entitled “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing to Accelerate Growth in Asia and the Pacific”. With AI spending reaching $73 billion and cloud spending $203 billion in 2024, the region is witnessing a rapid shift toward digitalization — driven by both private innovation and significant public sector investment in countries such as Australia, China, Korea, and Singapore. AI and cloud computing’s most significant economic impact comes from increased productivity and growth. The study estimates that a 1% increase in AI spending can boost GDP by 0.03%, while a similar increase in cloud spending contributes 0.01% to GDP. These figures underscore the direct link between digital infrastructure investment and productivity-driven economic growth. AI development and adoption are driven by research and development, startup support, AI model training infrastructure, adoption-friendly regulations, AI talent development, and workforce reskilling programs. Cloud adoption across sectors is enabled by unrestricted cross-border data flows, regulated industry incentives, fair market access for providers, local talent development partnerships, and enhanced cybersecurity standards. This report offers valuable insights for policymakers and business leaders aiming to harness digital transformation for inclusive, sustainable growth in the Asia-Pacific region. 🩺Health Tech Innovator and Entrepreneur at Directed Systems Ltd. - Clinical Cardiovascular R&D and Medical Software | AI & Data Science | Revolutionizing Patient Outcomes in Anesthesia, Patient Care, Emergency Care

To a lot of people, the cloud still seems like a futuristic concept. This is especially true in some parts of the healthcare industry, where new technology is often so slow to take root. However, we don’t need to wait until tomorrow to start using cloud technology to make healthcare smarter. We can do it today. In anesthesia and critical care, real-time decisions are made on the basis of physiological signals. But once a case ends, those signals are often locked away in bedside monitors, and valuable information is lost. That’s a missed opportunity for clinical learning, quality improvement, and system-wide insight. At Directed Systems Ltd, we believe important data shouldn’t stay trapped on a device. Cloud-native, software-based platforms make it possible to collect anonymised case data, share learnings, and scale the approaches that work. The opportunity isn’t in waiting for the future - it’s in using cloud innovation now to turn today’s experiences into tomorrow’s improvements.
