After years in the publishing industry, I started to notice something: People don't click on ads. I don't believe that's due to design, but rather to the one-sided nature of traditional marketing. Time is a limited resource, and games reward the amount that they captivate. To test this out, I have created #DreamCard—a giveaway where you can win up to $ 1,000 by voting for your favorite brands. I usually don’t post and wasn’t thinking about posting this — because, in the grand scheme of things, it didn’t feel like anything grandiose compared to most LinkedIn posts or projects. But I’ve come to realize it’s important to appreciate the steps in the journey, no matter how small. I just completed my website, which, as a disclaimer, is still in its beta phase. During this project, I got to really refine, challenge, and touch up my technical skills with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL, and I even gained experience in 3D design and UI/UX interfaces. There were a lot of bugs, especially when dealing with the 3D interface using runtime JS and Node.js, but I had a vision. I didn’t want to go with a traditional 2D layout — I wanted to bring back the kind of websites that defined my youth in the early 2000s and 2010s. Sites that were personalized, immersive, and felt like an experience. I wanted to create something that reflects where my creativity and technical skills intersect. When I first started working with 3D design and UI/UX, it felt tempting to just simplify everything and stick to pure HTML. But I had a vision I wanted to follow — something that would engage people and feel different when they browsed through my work. So if you’re curious and have a moment, feel free to check it out. Right now, it just shows some of my film projects from high school, but I plan to expand it soon with my recent projects, research, achievements, and other creative mediums I'm exploring. But one quote I saw on LinkedIn stuck with me (I’m probably paraphrasing): “Make it exist first, then make it good.” So I’m embracing the imperfections. I feel like I’ve been underutilizing my network during this difficult roadblock in my career—and I wanted to make a formal post that lets me share my story with you all. In May of last year, I was let go from my role at Paramount Global, as an Associate Marketing Manager for Paramount+. Despite the bittersweet ending, I am grateful for everyone at the company who I collaborated with and learned from in my time there, especially my close coworkers on the Sports and News team. For the last 12 months, I have been on the job search to return to a full-time role in marketing and/or entertainment—and it’s been unlike any search I have had before. As I’m sure many of you know, this is an incredibly competitive market where even qualified candidates are having much more difficulty actually landing positions. Despite hundreds of applications submitted, I remain confident in my professional capabilities. So I want to highlight them here, for anyone who is interested or able to assist me! - I am a digital marketing strategist and campaign manager with 3+ years of experience, helping brands grow their audiences, scale their profitability and create high-conversion campaigns across digital and out-of-home. - Over the past few years, I’ve built core competencies in demand generation strategy, multi-channel campaign execution, and lead nurturing across B2C environments. - At Paramount, I oversaw email, paid / organic social, and programmatic campaigns for NFL on CBS, Big Ten Football, and NCAA March Madness—exceeding targets for the latter by driving +16% Starts and +25% Active Subscriber Households. - At Pattern Brands, I owned full-funnel paid media ($1.2M revenue contribution; Meta ROAS +21–27%), crafted email nurture sequences in Klaviyo, and collaborated closely with sales to convert MQLs into pipeline. - As a Jr. Growth Marketing Associate at Superbolt Agency, I oversaw a $216K ad budget, implemented Google, Microsoft, Pinterest, and TikTok campaigns, and built marketing automation workflows that boosted lead-to-opportunity rates by 18%. As I reignite my search, I am targeting roles in demand generation, digital strategy, growth marketing, or any position where I can combine analytics, creativity, and cross-functional collaboration. This past June, I proudly graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in Technology Management. My time at UC Davis pushed me to grow academically and professionally; through taking rigorous coursework, leading team projects to success, or taking on leadership opportunities that challenged me to think critically and collaborate effectively. During my sophomore year, I enrolled in a competitive leadership program, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, where I gained mentorship, developed my professional toolkit, and attended networking events that connected me with incredible industry professionals. These experiences deepened my curiosity for business and gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities beyond the classroom. During my junior year, I started making fitness content for my fellow college students because I wanted to encourage healthier habits and show that fitness doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I saw how stressful balancing school, work, and life could be, and I wanted to make it easier for others to find simple workouts that could really make a difference. Last summer, I had the privilege of interning at PepsiCo as a Sales Development Representative Intern, where I learned the ins and outs of sales strategy, client relationship management, and deal execution. From pitching products to closing large deals that generated revenue for both Pepsi and their clients, I walked away with skills and insights that will stay with me throughout my career. Overall, I’m truly grateful for the opportunities, challenges, and community that shaped me into the young professional I aspired to be. Looking ahead, I’m eager to continue learning, growing, and making a powerful impact everywhere I go. ps. I’ll miss spending long hours on the fourth floor of Peter J. Shields Library and my little post-gym traditions of grabbing Chipotle and Sharetea. Osa Odiase reacted on thisOsa Odiase reacted on thisThis arrived by email today. Hurdling the AIGP test was quite an experience. I booked it for the morning of August 8, a Friday. Good thing I did, because technical difficulties forced me to reschedule to the next day. I picked a 10:15 slot to give me plenty of time to wind up. Just before 9 AM, I received an SOS from my Home Depot patrol group. An ICE raid was underway. I bolted out the door and didn't get back home until five minutes before go time. Needless to say, I was rattled. (And hangry, since I didn't have time for breakfast.) I'm honestly surprised that I passed because my brain was all over the place and my nerves were shot. Quite frankly, that's been the state of things for a long time. I love my job. I think I'm pretty decent at it, and I take it personally when any of my work product isn't better than par. But it has been SO HARD to focus on the nuances of advertising law when people are literally being snatched off the street in my neighborhood . . . not to mention everything else this administration is doing to burn American democracy to the ground. I'm relieved to have passed, and I'm pleased to hold the certification. At the same time, I find myself wondering more and more often: what does any of this matter? It feels like I'm rearranging deck furniture on the Titanic. Anyone else?

I've had to wait an extra two years for this award, because fun fact, two years were spent as a contract employee! This job has guided me through four promotions. I have dedicated my labor and service to two different teams. I have worked on projects from Life is Strange to Powerwash, Little Goody Two Shoes to Final Fantasy, and it's exciting to see those game credits keep on coming. I have led and still lead an Employee Resource Group, the 999 Kupos, and I have mastered public speaking because of my role. I have this company to thank for the MBA I earned at the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business with a specialization in Digital Transformation (well worth the extra coursework in my line of business!) I have this company to thank for the wonderful network of friends and connections I've made internationally. I continue to connect with so many different people from different professional backgrounds, each one inspiring my creative passion and strategy in newer, bolder ways. In the past five (seven) years at Square Enix, my keen sense for corporate strategy and acquisitions has only sharpened. When I reflect back on being the starry eyed ex-law student seven years ago to the professional woman I've become now, I find myself humbled by the growth I've achieved. I hope that I can continue to grow beyond where I am now. My goal was to earn this little crystal. What I will dare to dream of achieving next, I have yet to decide. Still, thank you to all who have been with me on this journey. To quote my dear friend Ana Horta, I am glad my heart was my guiding key to a fulfilling career with Square Enix. 🩵🖤

My last day on the Xbox team supporting Minecraft will be Friday, August 8th. It’s been quite the journey. I’ve had the pleasure of working with talented communicators who hustle to get things done. I will carry everything I’ve learned and hope to continue making my colleagues proud. 💚 As for what’s next, stay tuned! I’m so excited to share what I’ll be working on in the gaming and influencer space. For now, I’ll be wrapping up my work streams before enjoying a well-deserved break.
