Boaz Mamo shared thisWhy the "Chemistry Race" Isn’t Enough to Win 2035 McKinsey & Company’s latest report, "Battery 2035: Building New Advantages," makes one thing clear: The next decade of the battery industry won't just be won by what is inside the cell, but by how the cell is built. As the industry faces a massive inflection point, with demand projected to hit 6.8 TWh by 2035, the report highlights three critical pillars for success: 1️⃣ Industrialization Excellence (Maximizing yield and throughput) 2️⃣ Technology Evolution (Moving beyond standard 2D architectures) 3️⃣ Cost Leadership (Achieving sub-$100/kWh at the pack level) While many are focused solely on searching for the next "holy grail" chemistry, Addionics is solving the fundamental physics of the battery through Smart 3D Current Collectors. The McKinsey report calls for "rapidly evolving technologies" to overcome production bottlenecks. Addionics delivers exactly that: Chemistry Agnostic: Whether the market shifts to LFP, High-Nickel NMC, or Solid-State, our 3D architecture acts as a "drop-in" performance booster for any chemistry. Manufacturing Efficiency: Our porous structures allow for faster drying and shorter electrolyte filling—addressing the "industrialization excellence" McKinsey identifies as a competitive moat. Performance Without Trade-offs: Traditionally, you choose between high energy or fast charging. Our 3D electrodes provide both by shortening ion diffusion paths and reducing internal resistance. Boaz Mamo reposted thisBoaz Mamo reposted thisSatellites aren’t limited by rockets - they’re limited by batteries. In Low Earth Orbit, batteries endure ~25,000 charge cycles, forcing operators to use only ~40% of their capacity. The result? Millions spent launching dead weight - and a massive barrier to scaling commercial constellations. At Addionics, we’re breaking that tradeoff. Our Smart Porous 3D Current Collectors cut internal resistance and heat, safely expanding usable capacity from 40% to 60%. Fewer cells, less weight, lower launch costs. This isn’t just about efficiency - it’s about performance. AI-powered satellites can’t run on fragile batteries. Our 3D architecture delivers the high-power stability the New Space economy needs to thrive 🚀

Boaz Mamo shared thisPowering the next generation of defense systems. Modern defense capabilities rely heavily on energy density, safety, and rapid deployment. As our systems become more advanced, the battery architectures supporting them must evolve just as quickly. I’m looking forward to diving deep into this topic next week at Apex Defense in Washington, D.C. I will be discussing how Addionics is approaching new battery architectures to unlock high-performance capabilities for mission-critical applications. Join my session: Tuesday, January 27 2:30 PM If you are attending, I’d love to connect and discuss the future of defense electrification. Boaz Mamo shared thisLFP is the future of affordable EVs. But is the range enough? McKinsey’s latest report confirms that to reach cost parity, the industry must embrace LFP chemistry. The downside? Reduced range and energy density. We believe the answer lies in the electrode architecture. At Addionics, we are proving that you can have the low cost of LFP and the high performance of NMC. By utilizing Smart 3D Current Collectors, we unlock the full potential of cost-effective chemistries. Affordable EVs shouldn't mean "low-range" EVs.

#ValueBasedCare #HealthTech #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #VBC2026

NEW CEC V2G Roadmap! The California Energy Commission released a new roadmap on March 5, laying out a clear vision for scaling bidirectional EV charging across the state. The document assesses the technology's potential, identifies key barriers, and proposes concrete next steps to accelerate adoption. See EVinfo.net's article: https://lnkd.in/gi-jrq4Z The opportunity is significant. California had more than 2.1 million zero-emission vehicles on the road at the end of 2025, and the collective fleet represented an estimated 18.5 GW of potential energy storage capacity, surpassing the state's total stationary storage resources. Because personal vehicles are parked roughly 95% of the time, bidirectional-capable EVs could provide valuable energy services to both drivers and the grid without changing driving habits. CEC modeling based on 4.5 million EVs in 2030 found that peak grid load reductions could reach up to 5 GW, and average bill savings per vehicle from June through September could range from $262 to $321. Consumer interest is strong as well, with a majority of EV drivers saying they would enroll in a bidirectional program and over half willing to pay more for a capable vehicle. Automakers are responding. Bidirectional vehicles are now available from Ford, GM, Kia, Lucid, and more, with upcoming models announced from Rivian, Hyundai, Volvo, and Polestar at competitive price points. Barriers remain, including high upfront equipment costs often exceeding $10,000, interoperability limitations, and complex grid interconnection requirements. The CEC is actively funding charger deployments and building an interoperability testing lab to help clear the path forward. Vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies fall under the vehicle-to-everything (V2X) umbrella, and are moving fast from pilot programs to commercial deployment across the United States and international markets. The final weeks of April are all about fleet electrification, with several infrastructure players opening truck charging hubs in California and ACT Expo / ACT News closing out the month in Anaheim. Here are a few #HDEV-related openings, as highlighted in The Weekly 1.21 EVI⚡email digest from Plug & Play EV yesterday: ⚡ 🚛 Terawatt opened its first full charging hub for medium- to heavy-duty EVs, with 7MW capacity at the site in Rancho Dominguez, CA. ⚡ 🚛 Greenlane™ Infrastructure opens its highly anticipated hub in Colton, CA later this week. ⚡ 🚛 Prologis Mobility's JT Steenkamp confirmed that the company will open its 4.8MW charging facility in Vernon, CA in June. All of these organizations will be exhibiting at ACT Expo next week, so swing by their respective booths to learn more about those facilities and the charging systems they've deployed. In terms of charging hardware, a new "Technology" section of the weekly digest focuses on the ABB A400 all-in-one unit. Only a handful of locations in North America host the product so far, but it arrived to much fanfare at a new On The Run Charging station in Delta BC last week and Walmart Energy is expected to debut the A400 in Arizona soon, so it could become a familiar site for US and Canadian EV drivers later this year. 📬 If keeping up with the latest EV charging stations in North America is your thing, get these updates direct to your inbox every Sunday: https://lnkd.in/eWiwJsTy Here's a selection of what else we covered this week: 🔴 Tesla Charging was busy, even by its own highly active standards, with new Superchargers shared across seven states and provinces. Temporary Megapack units also charged up concertgoers at Coachella. ⚡Major sites energized in multiple states by IONNA and Rivian, as well as new #NEVI locations from Love's Travel Stops and Impower Connection EV Charging Solutions. 💵 Signs that Shell could finally be moving former Volta Media, A Shell Brand free (ad-supported) L2 charging stations to a fee-based network. ⚖️ District court rulings in DC and Rhode Island challenge the legitimacy of ongoing infrastructure and climate program funding freezes, with one labeling the government's rationale “fundamentally arbitrary”. 🌙 bp pulse joins the list of rising charging providers experimenting with time-of-use (TOU) pricing at select locations. Tesla and EVgo already use the strategy broadly, while the likes of iONNA and Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging are using select sites to learn more about the impact of TOU on station utilization. 🚆 Autonomous rail is moving from vision to reality. Interwoven Ventures’s portfolio company Parallel is moving fast ahead with testing its driverless, battery-electric freight trains in Southern California — a milestone that marks a real shift in how we think about rail logistics. Parallel’s autonomous railcars operate independently on existing tracks, enabling smaller, more flexible freight movements that could reshape the economics of short- and medium-haul transport, something rail lines do not handle today and trucking industry can’t make efficient enough - so win-win-win on all sides including end customers. For investors, this isn’t just about autonomy — it’s about unlocking latent rail capacity, decarbonizing heavy transport, and rethinking the infrastructure layer of global logistics. Exciting to see Parallel turning deep tech into real-world impact. #SupplyChainInnovation #DeepTech #AutonomousTransport #Rail #LogisticsTech #ClimateTech #InterwovenVentures

While Tesla made headlines for launching robotaxis in Austin this week, another company has been operating there, and in a much larger area, for months: Waymo. Safety experts have found that Waymo is much safer than both Tesla and human drivers. And their gradual rollout is winning over residents in every city they've come to. But concerns over labor, privacy and profitability loom for a company eager to transform the very fabric of American cities. My cover story, featuring Tekedra N. Waymo’s World: The Dawn of the Autonomous Era in NYC 🚕🤖 Waymo is looking to begin testing on the streets of New York City, a major milestone in the journey toward a safer, smarter, and more connected transportation future. In my latest op-ed for amNY, I explore how autonomous vehicles (AVs) can help New York achieve Vision Zero goals, create new workforce opportunities, reduce congestion, and bring equitable mobility options to underserved communities. Some key takeaways: 🏛 NYC is falling behind more than 25 states that have already authorized AV operations - new legislation is needed to unlock this potential! 👩🏫 Bronx Community College, with support from Waymo and CUNY’s UTRC, is expanding AV and EV training programs to prepare students for careers in this emerging field. 🚸 Waymo’s technology has demonstrated remarkable safety outcomes, including 88% fewer serious injuries and 93% fewer pedestrian injuries compared to human drivers. AVs are not a threat, they are a tool for progress. With the right policies, New York can lead the nation in innovation and safety. 📖 Read the full piece: https://lnkd.in/eCpxZzUc #AutonomousVehicles #Robotaxis #Waymo #NYC #MobilityPolicy #VisionZero #AVPolicy #SmartCities #TransportationTech #WorkforceDevelopment #FutureOfMobility

📣 We are delighted to share key takeaways from our latest journal article focused on California's Clean Miles Standard (SB 1014) and potential policy strategies for electric vehicle (EV) access and charging for ridehailing drivers. It is titled: "Charging Ahead: Perceptions and Adoption of Electric Vehicles Among Full- and Part-Time Ridehailing Drivers in California." This is an open access article, published in the World Electric Vehicle Journal, so there is no fee to access it. You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/gq9FFkG8. 🗝️ Our findings include: 🔋 Full-Time Ridehail Drivers Are Leading the EV Charge Full-time drivers are more likely to adopt EVs than part-timer drivers, despite worries over income loss from charging downtime. 🚫 Charging Access = Make or Break Access to home charging and past EV experience are the strongest predictors of EV adoption among ridehailing drivers. 💸 Upfront Cost Is Still a Major Barrier Even with lower long-term EV costs, many drivers can’t afford the upfront price of an EV, especially those working full time. 👥 Different Drivers, Different Incentives Full-time drivers prefer income-based, point-of-sale rebates; part-time drivers are more responsive to universal discounts and charging credits. 🌇 Renting Restricts Charging Most TNC drivers rent and live in multi-unit housing, limiting home charging, especially in urban areas such as LA. ⚖️ EV Hesitancy Tied to Age, Income, and Housing Older, lower-income drivers and those without access to charging are significantly more hesitant to go electric. 💬 Experience Changes Minds Drivers who have previously used EVs are far more open to future adoption, i.e., experience builds confidence. 🎯 One Size Does Not Fit All EV incentive policies should reflect driver diversity, as customized strategies will help meet the SB 1014 targets. Tesla's recent pilot launch of its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, marks a pivotal moment in the self-driving industry. This move could redefine the trajectory of autonomous vehicle (AV) deployment, challenging existing paradigms and setting new standards. Waymo is a technological cathedral (multi-sensor redundancy, $200K+ per unit, fine-tuned for dense urban complexity). But it’s a system that can’t scale to millions of consumers. Tesla, by contrast, is betting on brute-force AI, data, and commodity hardware to crack the hardest problem in tech with an Apple-like vertical stack. If Tesla succeeds at L4 or even robust L3 autonomy with just vision, we’ll look back at the last decade of LiDAR as the Maginot Line of autonomy; beautifully engineered, utterly bypassed❗️ #ComputerVision #SpatialIntelligence

Zoox just launched public robotaxi rides in San Francisco. Waymo continues expanding across cities and freeways. That sounds like progress. From a systems-engineering perspective, it signals something else. Robotaxi fleets are scaling faster than their verification frameworks. Every new deployment zone changes pedestrian behavior, occlusion geometry, cyclist interaction, and edge-case combinations. As the operating environment expands, scenario distributions shift — and validation assumptions decay. This isn’t a software bug story. It’s a boundary problem. Here’s why expansion inevitably outruns verification. https://lnkd.in/gxi4aFbW
