Since Prepared joined Axon, I've been quiet on here - but for good reason. I've been on the road nonstop, sitting across from some of the most dedicated leaders in public safety. People like Desiree Arnold BBA MBA CPE, Leah Missildine, Andrew Dameron, M.A., CPE, Tenea Reddick, and Tina Buneta - some of whom believed in us from day one and have been thought partners since Prepared was just an idea. Every conversation comes back to the same thing: 911 is the backbone of public safety, and the technology behind it hasn't kept up. The workflows are fragmented. The tools are outdated. And too often, the system works against the very people doing the work. This has been true for a long time, we all know it - the difference now is that we can actually do something about it. AI is going to change the world. Not incrementally. Fundamentally. And Prepared and Carbyne joining forces inside Axon gives us a once-in-a-generation opportunity to actually rewrite this - not just talk about it, but actually change it. And we plan to take big swings. I respect everyone working to move this space forward. But too many solutions today are either AI applied to narrow slices of the problem, or AI layered on top of decades-old infrastructure. If we want a future that's less fragmented and actually built for the work - we have to be willing to rebuild from the ground up side by side 911. Of course this won't happen overnight. It'll be hard work. But we're committed to it and it is our mission. And next week at Axon Week 2026, we plan to share our vision for the future of 911 with the world. Can't wait to show you.
Yesterday at Axon HQ, teams from Axon, Prepared, and Carbyne brought together 60+ PSAP leaders for a focused conversation on the future of emergency response. The discussion centered on how technology, coordination, and shared standards can strengthen outcomes across the entire response chain — from the moment a 911 call is placed to resolution in the field. What’s clear is that progress will depend not just on innovation, but on continued partnership with the agencies and professionals at the center of this work. We’re grateful to everyone who joined and contributed to the conversation!
