About Luke Collins
Luke is an experienced sports journalist and editor who has produced content for multiple outlets, including The72, Last Word on Sports and The Non-League Paper.
After completing his NCTJ Diploma in Journalism and Master's Degree in Sports Journalism at St Mary's University, Twickenham, Luke joined the GiveMeSport academy in December 2022 as a freelance sports journalist.
He went on to become an editor as part of the social media team and has played a key role in shaping GiveMeSport's football coverage - from breaking news and in-depth features on English and European football to covering major tournaments, including Euro 2024.
Now back at GiveMeSport as a freelance journalist, following a short career break, Luke delivers engaging coverage and insightful analysis of Premier League, Champions League and international football.
Favorite Sports Team
Luke has been brought up a Chelsea fan, and attends Stamford Bridge for matches whenever he gets the chance. He was fortunate enough to be at John Terry's final game for the club when they lifted the Premier League title in 2016/17.
Favorite Player
As a Chelsea fan, Luke grew up watching the likes of Didier Drogba and John Terry, but his favourite of the lot was Frank Lampard. The England legend's goals against Bolton which sealed a first Premier League title were two of his favourites from Lampard's vast collection.
Favorite Sports Moment
Chelsea's two Champions League victories are up there, but Luke's favourite memory is the first time he went to watch Chelsea against Blackburn Rovers in 2004. He was behind the goal as Eidur Gudjohnsen completed his hat-trick in a 4-0 win.
