About Jordan Osborne

Jordan began his time at GIVEMESPORT as a writer in the Academy before being offered a freelance writer position. He honed his craft during his studies at the University of Portsmouth, where he earned his BA, MA, and PhD in English and Creative Writing.

His work has been published in the London Magazine, Last Word On Sports, Star & Crescent, and Hello Student, as well as his award-winning online publication Vendor, which he solely founded in 2016.

Outside of GIVEMESPORT, Jordan works part-time and in freelance roles in social research and education. He is currently a Visiting Lecturer in Media, Journalism, and Communications at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, the country's largest state university. He previously lectured in Creative Writing at the University of Portsmouth.

Jordan follows a wide range of sports, but his passions lie in professional wrestling, football, F1, and middle and long-distance running.

Favorite Player

John Arne Riise, red hair and all. An absolute cult figure of the 2000s Liverpool team and the Barclays era in general. As a 21st century Liverpool fan, it's always tempting to say Gerrard or Salah, but Riise was a living, breathing highlight reel in an era when full backs were supposed to be a team's least talented, most boring player. The Norwegian broke the mould.

Favorite Sports Team

Jordan has experienced all the ups and downs of Liverpool's fortunes over the last 30 years. The highs of Benitez's Champions League comeback, and the lows of the Hodgson and Rodgers eras. And of course, the heavy metal football of Jurgen Klopp that has defined the club's success over the last decade. Being a Liverpool fan can be testing at times, but it's never boring.

Favorite Sports Moment

That night in Istanbul. Liverpool fans have experienced some great European nights, and some even better European comebacks. But nothing touches Istanbul - not even the corner taken quickly. Gerrard leading the way. Dudek's double save and dancing. It was mission impossible, until it wasn't.
