Youth

Christopher Robert Evans was born on June 13, 1981, in Boston, Massachusetts. His mother, Lisa, is an art director at the Concord Youth Theater, while his father, Bob, is a dentist. He is of Irish and Italian descent. Evans lived in Sudbury, and his parents divorced in 1999. He has two sisters, Shanna and Carly, as well as a brother who is a fellow actor, Scott Evans.

Education

Not too many details are available about Chris Evans' education when he was young. He graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 1999, and attended school with fellow future actor Jeremy Strong.

Career

His first credited role on screen was in 1997's Biodiversity: Wild About Life!, an educational film. His true screen debut, though, came in 1999's TV movie, The Newcomers. His breakout started with the lead role in 2001's Not Another Teen Movie, which led to parts in The Perfect Score (2004), which was his first of several collaborations with Scarlett Johansson. Evans' biggest role early on was as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel.

Sunshine (2007) was an underrated film for Evans, but his actual breakout into becoming a household name was as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). That set him up as a recurring star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which he's still appearing in today, and which features his biggest and most profitable movie roles. Other notable roles include Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010), The Losers (2011), Snowpiercer (2013), Gifted (2017), Knives Out (2019), and Materialists (2025), just to name a few.

Personal Life

Chris Evans has dated several high profile stars, including Jessica Biel and Jenny Slate. However, in 2023, he married Portuguese actress Alba Baptiste. Together, they have a daughter who was born in October 2025. Evans also famously adopted a dog named Dodger from a local shelter.
