Of course, in Asimov's actual works the Empire becomes much less technically competent as time moves on (and systems move outside their sphere of control) as opposed to this very loosely "based upon" series where their technology seems to constantly improve. Trantor itself was sacked prior to the Mule's arrival in "Foundation and Empire" and ruled over only an "empire" of 20 agricultural worlds by that time.

Good God. It's "canon", not "cannon", "Roddenberry", not "rodenberry", and learn how to capitalize and punctuate properly.

Some anonymous troll on a chat board isn't going to dictate what is and isn't canon, either.

It's been so long since I read these things that I don't have any clue about what's going on or who most of the POV characters are any more. I am not going to invest the time necessary to catch up, either. GRRM has shown nothing but contempt for readers of this series, going off and spending his time on a dozen other projects, some related, some not, so I am going to display equal contempt in not sending him one red cent more.
