The Doctor is by far the best, despite his/their two hearts, the most human character in the long history of Science Fiction all the way back to H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, and the giants on whose shoulders The Doctor stands. For over 60 years, through all the actors who have "flown" The TARDIS, contributing their own individual takes on the character, changing the history since 1963, when I used to race home after school to delight in the ridiculous foam rubber, papier mache', duct tape, heating vent, cardboard boxes, and chicken wire aliens and monsters that threatened our very existence every episode, and all written by some of the greatest minds in Science Fiction. My first favorite was #4, Tom Baker, whose floppy hat and 12 foot scarf, whimsical wit and cleverness mixed with kindness that shaped my young mind, and the over the top silliness of several subsequent Doctors through the decades have been a delight, right up to the 21st Century, and Christopher Eccleston's deadpan style, with a nudge and an occasional wink, during the more harrowing moments when annihilation was imminent. Then came David Tennant, who from his place on the floor in front of the TV as a wee lad, vowed to be the greatest Doctor as a child, and has gone on to be one the most respected actors in the pantheon of British Theater, but would drop everything to don his signature outfit and pick up the mantle again, and has, two or three times. The 15th Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa's acting star is rising, and I haven't seen his Swan Song, final episode, so I won't spoil (please don't you spoil it either, as every fan deserves to be enchanted the way you were at the revelation) the possibly next Doctor, but I have a feeling they will carry the torch faithfully on as long as the writing continues to flourish.....

I absolutely love the new Doctor Who! I started watching in the early 2000s and was hooked to these wild storylines! My favorite Doctor so far is David Tennant, but you never know what the future may hold.

Sorry folks but Ilove all of our Tome Lord's. IT breaks my heart that racism is still alive ob the future. Homosexuality is accepted but a Time Lord was not. Considering what we ended up getting in the States as a President it hurts to see it on the Doctor's Time-Line.

Doctor Who from 2005 thru David Tenants 14th Doctor were awesome shows. But the new 15th Doctor is not so great. Please bring back the David Tenant as the Doctor to save the show

I used to love Doctor Who. I've been a fan since I started watching during the Tom Baker years. Last few seasons seemed to get more and more into social issues which is not why I watched the Doctor. Didn't bother to watch the most recent season. First time I've skipped an entire season. Seeing the likes of Neil Patrick Harris prancing about was just another nail. I finished that season because I started it, hoping it would get better (my interpretation of better, of course). While I'm here -what's with the musical numbers (which seem to have infected Star Trek, as well).

To quote the Curator from "The Day of the Doctor'" "No More."

Thanks Disney for drastically changing the direction and quality of yet another formerly great franchise.
