Considered a cult classic film, Starship Trooper is set in the not-too-distant future when humanity is at war with an alien race called the Arachnids. The film follows Johnny Rico, a teenager recruited into the military and the war against the Arachnids.

Send confirmation emailOne of the all-time greats of satire. It presents an utterly horrific world dominated by pro-military fascism and knowingly pokes fun at its absurdity, from the ridiculous propaganda, to how bizarre its practices are played straight. Yet, its cast is also incredibly likable too, which throws you through a loop as you can't help but want these people, who are either trapped in this terrifying system or openly embrace it, to succeed. It's a strange movie, but one worth remembering, if not for some truly memorable one-liners.
The hard part about satire is that when you do it really well, there are going to be a lot of people who really don't get it and take your creation at face value. This is why Starship Troopers wasn't well-received in its time, but has gotten praise over the years as people realize what it's actually saying.
It is awesome experience to watch the miracle of Starship Troopers being adapted into a movie.
