Interstellar is an imaginative movie, but a heavy-handed mix of personal sacrifice and theoretical physics doesn't leave much room for subtle storytelling.

Recently we rewatched in cinema (when they do the rerun). This might be my 6th or 7th times watching the movie but it managed to surprise me with hidden elements. It will be watched for many years or hundreds to come.

Even though it has an ending that takes a couple of watches to appreciate fully, Interstellar is an operatic sci-fi film that provides Matthew McConaughey the ability to prove to audiences that he can make them cry. Multiple scenes in the movie still take my breath away every time. Its twists are tragic, and Hans Zimmer again takes everything to the next level with his musical score. Interstellar is easily one of the most emotional and well-made sci-fi adventure movies in a long time.

Can't wait for the re release. The only time worth going to the cinema is for a Nolan film, even if it is a re release, how sad is that!

Beautiful film, both visually and in its concept! Its ashamed that Nolan has this thing about not doing sequels, if he were to break that rule this would be a good movie to do it with, but not to out do the original, as we know the storyline, but to continue the journey and give it closure,
But if not closure, then for us to continue the wonderful journey, if even for a while longer.
Hans Zimmer's soundtrack is Amazing! Great film! How about the character of Matthew McConaughey goes back to look for the girl and somehow goes too far back in time, before earths drought, then at that time it was a manageable but serious crisis barely managed because of water from a nearby astroid, but then its revealed some how during this process of returning to save them from this manageable drought, that he was sent to find life on another planet for mankind, to live on, but then he unknowingly brings back a virus while reporting his findings, which then caused the manageable drought to now become a non reversible famine in the first place. Caused the later events we saw in interstellar 1 at the beginning of the movie. A time paradox of sorts..but then again if I were good at movie scores and story lines, then you all would be writing about me eh? 😉

Possibly Nolan's saddest film, a spindly spacefaring time-bending dirge on emotional distance (itself one of Nolan's favorite themes). Interstellar is an adventurous portrait of obsession, but it's also full of delightful sci-fi quirks, like it's magnificent perambulating robot or the stunning ocean planet. It's built a legacy for itself since release, probably as the ideal Nolan Dad Film.
Pair it with Aronofsky's The Fountain for a nerdy tearjerking weekend double-feature marathon.

Intense, awe inspiring, and shockingly scientifically accurate. Interstellar is an absolute masterpiece covering not only in depth scientific exploration but also the nature of humanity. While thrilling and action packed in moments regarding space exploration, the main story is that of love and what it means to be human, and how there are things that don't necessarily follow the laws of physics. The cast is amazing at their roles, and I have a special fondness for TARS and CASE, the two robots that join them on their journey, due to there exceptionally human and borderline "blasé" attitudes. With several plot twists and difficult choices, this movie is sure to keep you engaged.

Amazing movie. I can still vividly remember watching the 'No Time for Caution' scene in IMAX where Coop needs to match the spin speed to dock. To this day that still stands out as one of the most jaw dropping movie moments I've ever experienced. I think it rightly gets dinged a bit for the 'Love is the key' speech towards the end which feels corny, but everything else in this movie is just so good. Probably my most listened to movie score from the great Hans Zimmer.

Never fails to make me try. A movie about reaching for something that you might think is beyond your grasp. Still, it doesn't hurt to try. A movie about how much a parent can love their kids. Makes me cry everytime. Absolutely stunning.

Though the (in)famous "love" monologue does indeed stick out a bit from an otherwise wonderful script, and the audio mixing leaves a few lines of dialogue overly muddled, Interstellar is an incredible accomplishment that's aged beautifully. The story is emotive and the visuals are best-in-class, but it's really the score by Zimmer that elevates the entire experience. It's not a movie that I think watches well played in the background of a busy day - it deserves dim lights, a big screen, loud sounds, and uninterrupted focus.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Look, there's probably some inaccuracies here and there that someone with a more academic background than myself can point out, but the overall aesthetic, the shots chosen, the score (or even lack thereof during the space scenes), the acting, the story - it just all culminates into what might be one of Nolan's best cinematographic endeavors.

Greatest film I have had the pleasure of watching. 'What are you doing? ... Docking.... That's impossible.... No it's necessary! ( Cue the most intense scene with tension building Hans Zimmer masterclass to accompany it) 👌🏽 Incredible every time!

A bloated movie that thinks it's smarter than it is, and tries to cap it all off with teary-eyed sappy family drama. A bad entry in the Christopher Nolan oeuvre.

I'm sorry, I'm a huge Nolan fan but an Interstellar hater. I do think some of the elements of it seem more compelling over time, such as the emotionality in its portrayal of time, but I feel like the performance from Anne Hathaway was overdone and took me out of much of the movie.

At times, Interstellar is a little complex, but what more can you expect from Christopher Nolan? This is high-concept sci-fi at its most creative, challenging ideas of time travel confidently, with all of Nolan's usual eye for visuals and great character performances. The theme is also easily one of the best scores of all time.
