What DC's Aquaman movie lacks in refinement, it makes up for with action spectacle and a whole lot of fun personality from Momoa's Arthur Curry.

I didn't expect to like Aquaman, but it surprised me. The movie leaps face-first into its undersea lore, setting up a variety of visually distinct and genuinely exciting locales for the characters to visit on a brisk treasure hunt. Aquaman and Black Manta are perfectly cast, and I actually winced when the hero took one of his enemy's eye beams full on.

I had a lot of fun watching this movie for the first time. Jason Momoa's take on Aquaman was not what a lot of people expected when the movie was announced, but he made the character so fun. Atlantis brought to life on screen is also stunning. The visuals and the water work in this movie are just fantastic.

One of my favorite DCEU movies. Was a breath of fresh air after the disaster that was Justice League. Thought things would finally turn around. Turns out, it's because James Wan has the sauce. Visually stunning. Love seeing underwater fights and this one delivered multiple times. Jason Momoa before his bit grew a little tiring.
