About Brian Gallagher

Brian Gallagher is a seasoned entertainment journalist with nearly 18 years of professional experience. His work has appeared in MovieWeb, IGN and Daily Mail and he has covered everything from Star Wars to Marvel to Milf Manor to The Kardashians and practically everything in between.

Favorite Media

Brian's five favorite movies are On the Waterfront, The Searchers, Reservoir Dogs, City of God and Chinatown. His tastes run the gamut from classic to modern, and at the end of the day, all he really wants is to find a great story. While he loves bold direction and towering performances as much as the cinephile, he's really looking for the story to grab him and take him to places he hasn't been.

He has also long been a fan of retro gaming, using the COVID lockdown to beat games from his childhood like Shinobi on Sega Master System, Bionic Commando on NES, NBA Jam and all of the Street Fighter games (before SFIV), which you can watch on his little-used YouTube if you're incredibly bored.

Over the last two years he has also started to embrace modern gaming on XBox and he has enjoyed a number of games like Fortnite, the Star Wars Cal Kestis games, the new Indiana Jones game, Commandos: Origins and random discoveries on Game Pass like Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders.

Industry Focus

Brian will be editing Features and Lists at Screen Rant, delving into these unique longform pieces that take deep dives into popular culture.
