  • For those who say the film had a predictable ending, I ask, are you really even paying attention? This film had a very unpredictable twist and ending and went in another direction that caught everyone by surprise. While it can be debated as to whether Michelle would turn out to be an actual alien, she played it out as if she in fact was not, and it was a complete mind bending twist that she was, and then went so far as to show us her world and then end all human life. Anyone who thinks they saw this coming is lying and simply trying too hard to make themselves look like you’re some brilliant film critic who yawns at even the most brilliant writing. This was an incredible film with brilliant performances and an all too real story about humanity.

  • While it could have benefited of having a more unpredictable ending, Bugonia stands out as a fascinating film thanks to Lanthimos’s inventive direction, the strong performances from Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, and its remarkable technical achievements.

Synopsis

Bugonia follows two conspiracy-obsessed young men who abduct a major company's CEO, believing she is an alien planning Earth's destruction. Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, the 2025 film adapts Jang Joon-hwan's 2003  comic thriller Save the Green Planet!
