I’ll be honest, when I founded Talener in 2007, I wasn’t thinking about what the next two decades would look like. Rather, I was asking myself, how did I get here?
Every April when Talener’s anniversary rolls around, I know that we are still in business because our core values have never changed. We show up as people – curious, direct, and genuinely invested in our candidates’ and clients’ outcomes. It was true in 2007 and it’s still true today.
As we approach two decades, it’s easy to reflect on what has been built over the years. Every time we guide you through a career decision, a critical hire, or building out a team - you help us build an exceptional community. You are the reason that we are here and the reason we look to the future.
So, what’s next for Talener and the staffing industry? The core of staffing will always be people-focused, yet we are now in a new information era – one that will impact hiring beyond AI generated resumes, job descriptions, or screening software.
Transparency is the new first impression.
For decades, first impressions happened in an office. Today, they occur before anyone ever picks up the phone. We are living in a transparency era, whether we like it or not.
Driven in large part by AI and unlimited access to information– candidates can research company behavior just as easily as companies can dissect the lives of potential hires. Reviews, LinkedIn activity, job posting history, online presence – it’s all part of the picture now.
This creates something I believe in deeply – accountability on both sides of the table. Job seekers need to ensure that what they present in their professional narrative holds up to scrutiny, because it will be scrutinized.
Similarly, companies need to understand that the way they hire, communicate, and treat people is visible to the market, whether they’ve been intentional about it or not.
More than ever, transparency must be the standard. We will guide you through the rapidly changing, AI-influenced hiring landscape. Our team will continue to enhance our services, build custom solutions, and deliver results. But most importantly, we will continue to focus on what matters most about staffing: the people.
