How To Get The Sellen's Bell Bearing

The only way to get Sorceress Sellen's bell bearing is by completing her questline while choosing to invade her at the library.

1.1 Before starting Sellen's questline, you must first activate the Grand Lift of Dectus. This is important as the quest won’t start if you don’t do that. To activate the Grand Lift of Dectus, you must collect both halves of the Dectus Medallion (see Dectus Medallion (Right) and Dectus Medallion (Left) for their locations). As you get them, head to the Caria Manor, and from the Site of Grace at the entrance, start traveling east and use a stone pillar as a bridge to reach the middle section of Liurnia of the Lakes. Then, head north towards the Grand Lift of Dectus.

1.2. It’s also necessary to get at least two Great Runes. The quickest ones to get come from Godrick the Grafted, in Stormveil Castle, and Rennala's Full Moon, in Raya Lucaria Academy.

2. Now, it’s time to look for Sellen. First, head to the Waypoint Ruins, in Limgrave. There’s a staircase that leads to a cellar in the ruins, where you’ll fight a Mad Pumpkin Head. As you defeat it, open the door to find Sellen.

Talk to her, agree to be her apprentice, and exhaust all her dialogues. She’ll ask you to find the Comet Azur Spell.

3. To do this, you must reach the Seethewater River. This can be done by traveling north from the Grand Lift of Dectus until you reach the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace. From there, hike northeast through some rocks to reach a plateau where the Wyndham Ruins are. As you reach the ruins, head northwest to find a hidden zone that leads to the Seethewater River Site of Grace.

Now, follow the river stream until you find the Seethewater Cave. This cave is in a bifurcation; go through the path to the west to find the Seethewater Terminus Site of Grace. Now, head towards the castle in the distance and turn southwest instead of entering. This will lead you to a boss fight against the Magma Wyrm. You can ignore it and progress through the path to the right of the boss battle arena. Progress uphill, going past the Hermit’s Shack, continue to the east, and eventually find the Craftsman’s Shack Site of Grace.

Now, from there, head northeast, cross the Hermit Village, and at the end you’ll find a second boss fight, this time against Demi-Human Queen Maggie. Behind her lies the Primeval Sorcerer Azur, a powerful sorcerer. Interact with him to receive the Comet Azur Spell.

4. Return to Sellen and talk with her. You’ll find a new dialogue where you can show her the Comet Azur, and after that, a dialogue that says, “I have a favor to ask”. Go through that one to receive the Sellian Sealbreaker, and the task to look for Primeval Sorcerer Lusat.

5. To find Lusat, you must first reach the Bestial Sanctum, in Caelid. You can quickly do that through a teleporter located in the lake behind the Third Church of Marika. The exact location of this portal is marked on the map below.

As you reach the Bestial Sanctum, head south and continue until you find the Church of the Plague. From there, head north, going uphill, towards a giant tombstone. The boulder behind this tombstone is an illusory wall. Interact with it to reveal a new passage. This will lead to the Sellia Hideaway.

Progress through the first section of the cave until you find a wall that cuts your progress. Interact with it to reveal a secret passage. There’s a second illusory wall deeper into the cave. This will lead to a section with giant crystals. Go through a tiny passage to your right, jump over the crystals at the end, and head northeast until you find a large crystal on a pit. Drop to it, then drop to the bottom of this pit. Further through the pit, you’ll find a seal and a sorcerer. Kill the sorcerer and break the seal to find Lusat. Interact with him to get the Stars of Ruin Sorcery.

Now, leave the cave and teleport back to Sellen. Report Lusat’s location to her.

6. To make the quest continue, you must defeat Starscourge Radahn. You can do this at Redmane Castle, in the southern section of Caelid.

7. Sellen will have a new request for you. Her actual body is trapped in Witchbane Ruins, in the Weeping Peninsula. This zone is easy to find as it’s on the western Weeping Peninsula, south of the Fourth Church of Marika. As you get here, interact with Sellen’s real body to retrieve Sellen's Primal Glintstone.

8. Now, return to Redmane Castle to search for Jerren. He’ll now be near the Redmane Castle Plaza Site of Grace, to the north, inside the structure where the lift to reach Radahn’s boss battle arena is. Interact with him and exhaust his dialogues. Now, return to Sellen’s real body location.

If Jerren is not here, head back to Sellen’s real body. You’ll find Jerren there. If he’s not there, go to any Site of Grace, rest, and return. You’ll find Sellen’s real body murdered by Jerren. Talk to him and exhaust all his dialogues. Don't worry, though. Sellen is not dead.

9. Now, you must find Ranni's Rise. It’s in the zone to the west of the Caria Manor, and to access it, you must go through Caria Manor and defeat Royal Knight Loretta. Once inside Ranni's Rise, head northeast, watching north to find some ruins. Roll into the middle of the ruins to reveal a hidden staircase, where you can find Sellen’s new body. Interact with it to give this body the Sellen's Primal Glintstone. This will allow Sellen to be free to invade the Academy.

10. This is the last step of Sellen’s Questline, where you must decide. Head to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace, where you fought Rennala. You’ll find two signs at the entrance of the library: a gold and a red one.

The red sign lets you invade Sellen, with Jerren as your ally. The gold one lets you ally with Sellen to kill Jerren.

Betraying Sellen

If you decide to use the red sign to betray Sellen, you’ll invade her alongside Jerren. As she dies, you’ll get Witch's Glintstone Crown and Sellen's Bell Bearing, marking the end of her questline. Jerren will be outside the library and will give you an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone as a reward. You can kill him to get his Armor Set if you wish.

Note that you won’t be able to get Azur's Glintstone Set or Lusat's Set alongside the Shard Spiral spell if you betray Sellen.
