Uchigatana is a Weapon in Dark Souls. The Uchigatana is one of the most well-balanced katanas in Dark Souls 1. It features relatively low Strength and Dexterity requirements, making it accessible for a variety of builds, especially those that don’t focus heavily on physical damage output. However, when upgraded and paired with high Dexterity, it can still deliver solid physical damage. The Uchigatana also causes Bleed buildup, which can drain 30% of an enemy's HP if the Blood Loss effect is successfully triggered, making it a potent weapon for dealing with tougher foes and bosses. Katanas are long-reach, fast-swinging Dexterity weapons that deal both Slash and Thrust damage and can inflict Bleed buildup. While their sharp blades are effective for parrying when wielded in the left hand, they tend to have low durability, requiring careful management.

Bleed build up is 33 per strike, and once inflicted will tear 30% of the opponents HP.
Resembles more of a tachi, as the blade seems longer than that found in most standard uchigatana.
Demon's Souls version: Has the same appearance and move set, but has greater range than in Dark Souls.
