Giant Skeleton is an Enemy in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. Enemies are hostile creatures that respawn when players rest at a Bonfire or upon death. Special enemies that do not respawn are classified as Bosses, Mini Bosses or Black Phantom.

Giant Skeleton Information

A bigger and much more powerful, but cumbersome version of your average skeletal warrior. Makes use of its moderate speed, position in the imminent area, and guard breaking attacks to punish players. Fortunately, they're not as fast as their smaller cousins. Equipped with a gigantic Falchion, they inflict a world of hurt, and cause Bleed buildup.

Giant Skeleton Attacks

  • Combo - Starts with horizontal swing, a moderate pause, then another. Can be deflected with flinching animation with medium to above deflection type shields.
  • Cleave - Raises sword above head two handed and slams it on the ground.
  • Kick - Moderate windup then kicks, still pushes a blocking player a short displacement.

Giant Skeleton Strategy

Melee - Facing a giant skeleton blade to blade is by no means a easy task, inflict bleed status easily and even more within pairs or groups, their long windup but short deliverance kicks knocking a light poised player easily, most of their attacks providing some kind of knockdown. If faced in melee, the person should try to gain comfortable distance, their combo can be easily deflected by a medium or above deflection type shield, be wary of circling around them as between the windup for kicks and slam attack they will track the player before hitting. Fortunately most of their attacks as well are heavy and slow, so be prepared to dish out a flurry of attacks. If you see a kick, with a Claymore or any sizable melee weapon two-handed you can stun them and insure yourself a kill before they finish, if you don't, back up immediately, blocking a kick in the Tomb of Giants can result in a fall of your death. Watch the bleed counter, play defensively within distance but aggressive enough to pinpoint when to strike at the right times.
