Chaos Upgrades | Dark Souls

Chaos Upgrades are a type of Upgrade in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered. They enable players to "Ascend" weapons and shields in a specific path.

Chaos Upgrade path and Requirements in Dark Souls and Dark Souls Remastered

Chaos Upgrades for weapon are performed by Blacksmith Vamos in The Catacombs.

Note that each upgrade level requires a number of soul that varies depending on the weapon.

• Regular Upgrade from +5 to Fire +0 requires a Green Titanite Shard to ascend.
• Fire upgrade from +0 to +5 requires 9 Green Titanite Shards.
• Fire upgrade from +5 to Chaos +0 requires a Chaos Flame Ember and Red Titanite Chunk to ascend.
• Chaos upgrade from +0 to +4 requires 7 Red Titanite Chunks.
• Chaos upgrade from +4 to +5 requires 1 Red Titanite Slab.
• Total amount of materials required from Regular +0 to Chaos +5 : 9 Titanite Shards, 10 Green Titanite Shards, 8 Red Titanite Chunks, 1 Red Titanite Slab.
