AnonymousI don't understand this spell.
I have 8 wisdom. My stated hit-chance is usually somewhere around 9-15 where I currently am, yet I've never missed a shot.
Does it always hit regardless of tooltip info?
Anonymousthis is actually a very good spell. the problem is that its a spell.
Its accuracy is depended on Wisdom not your standard Dex.
its on a half caster class, and the best build i can think off using this spell is a
9 ranger 3 druid.
which gives you 4/3/3/1 spell slots. a lvl 7 caster.
you have shillelagh and flame blade which use Wisdom. for melee attacks. plus Extra attacks
druid cantrips and sacred flame for range.
Anonymousyou all say it is a trash spell but the moonrise warden is wooping my ass with this spell which always hit my AC 22 ranger

AnonymousThe damage is mediocre comparing to just using an explosive arrow (item). Could work well on some lightning build, but the range is limited comparing to things like arrow of multi targets (item). Very small spreading radius, same as the 'Arrow of Lightning' item variant. I'm a bit sad that high level Ranger doesn't really provide any valuable skill or perks. It's good but miles away from classes like Paladin, Fighters, Barb, Sorc. etc.
The 6 - 48 damage range is a bit too vary to be reliable on top of Ranger limited spell slots.
AnonymousIn my limited testing this spell appears to not enable multiattack or add weapon damage. It also uses your spell attack. Even against a vulnerable target like steel watchers its barely viable also considering they resist piercing (lightning arrow consumes can help as well). I suppose it's also an aoe at lvl 9 before you can volley at 11 if you're a hunter. Disappointed but not useless.

AnonymousHow does this spell work exactly?
Will Attack bonuses still apply?
Will it basically transform my 1d6 shotbow+extra stuff, to a 4d8+extra stuff - with potential to deal double damage against wet targets and guaranteed to crit if you go tempest or assassin (for example)?

AnonymousThis is not a bonus action in game and does not require concentration. It's just a nuke.

Surprising this isn’t stated yet. Use Arcane Acuity on a Ranger with both good Dex + Wis and High AC so you are not targetted and lose your acuity. One Arrow of many targets can drive you up to 10 Acuity which is +10 Spell DC. Youre basically guarenteed hitting. Combo this with Drake Throat: Thunder weapon and a Reverb set. You are not only building your Spell DC per shot but also Reverb lowers targets chance to dodge Dex Saves or even cause them to go Prone. Obviously just add Water and this hits as hard as you were hoping for. Same build helps with landing Barrage btw.
