When speaking of South Korean stories, no IP has been on the same scale of popularity and recognition as Solo Leveling. Originally created by Chugong as a web novel, Solo Leveling's success as a novel and then Manhwa has led to the birth of its sequel series, known as Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.

With Solo Leveling's general rise to popularity, the demand for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok has also skyrocketed. Because of that, finally in 2026, we are getting the full English release of its main novel. Previously, the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok novel was hard to access online, as platforms like Tapas had yet to fully release its story. Now, Ize Press has revealed its plans to bring forward physical copies of this hit novel ahead of the IP's big return with Solo Leveling: Beyond System movie in 2027.

Ize Press Officially Announces English Release for Solo Leveling Ragnarok Novel

Ize Press English Release Solo Leveling Ragnarok Novel

Solo Leveling enjoyed a humble debut as a web novel in South Korea 10 years ago, in 2016, when the series was launched by Chugong. Later on, it was adapted into a manhwa by Redice Studio in 2018 and into an anime by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures in 2024. Solo Leveling's focus has always been on its protagonist, Sung Jinwoo. However, the sequel to the series by a different creator, Daul, instead gives the spotlight to Jinwoo's son, Sung Suho, as he takes on his own journey and tackles new, unique challenges.

Suho’s story is interesting, but at the moment, most fans of Solo Leveling are only familiar with Jinwoo, as he is the only of the two main characters to have received an anime. That said, with the great success of Jinwoo's own story, many fans have gotten interested in its novel, manhwa, and, of course, the Ragnarok sequel as well. Solo Leveling: Ragnarok was written between 2023 and 2025 by Daul. Shockingly, even today, the series has yet to get a physical release for its novel. The novel doesn’t even have a Korean print, let alone an English one. Luckily, this is about to be fixed. On August 22, 2026, Ize Press, which falls under the handle of Yen Press, which handles the release of South Korean content, revealed its grand plans to finally publish physical volume releases of Solo Leveling Ragnarok’s novel in English.

sung suho new solo leveling ragnarok release

This is definitely big news, as Solo Leveling Ragnarok's manhwa is still in its early stages of being published and currently stands with only one volume, previously released on July 21, 2026. This means that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok is in great demand, as Ize Press has wasted no time taking notice of that. While the project itself has officially been confirmed, we still don't have an official release date for the Solo Leveling novels' physical printout. With that in mind, we do expect a release date of late 2026 or early 2027 for its first volume. More information should be revealed in the next few weeks or months about this massive new Ragnarok release.

“In a world overrun by gates, monsters, and powerful hunters, Sooho Sung is nothing more than an ordinary college student. His parents disappeared just before the gates began appearing three years ago, and although he sometimes dreams of battling monsters and gaining levels like a character in a video game, there’s nothing particularly remarkable about him. That changes when a monster outbreak erupts on his college campus. With danger closing in, Sooho fights the urge to flee and follows in the footsteps of his police detective father, risking his life to save a classmate. His chances of survival seem slim—until a mysterious message appears: [Congratulations on becoming a Player.]” — Solo Leveling Ragnarok Description Via Ize Press

New Ragnarok Release Comes After Tapas Novel Completion

solo leveling Ragnarok Tapas Novel Completion

Solo Leveling Ragnarok has definitely been on the rise when it comes to popularity. Prior to the new reveal by Ize Press that would bring Solo Leveling: Ragnarok into physical form, we were also made aware that Tapas, one of the biggest platforms for manhwa and South Korean novels, was aiming to complete its library with the full English release of Solo Leveling Ragnarok. Previously, Tapas had only released 318 chapters of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok's novel on its platform in English. Tapas had stopped this release at chapter 318 in 2025, and left behind a whopping 58 chapters unpublished as the series ended its run with 376 chapters.

The reason why Tapas stopped releasing Solo Leveling Ragnarok content out of the blue is a complete mystery. Either way, since August 12, 2026, the platform has addressed the issue and completed Solo Leveling: Ragnarok for English readers to enjoy globally. This has greatly expanded the reach of Sung Suho, whose story was previously almost impossible to access for millions of fans, especially with no physical English release.

The first 318 chapters of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok were fun, but chapter 319 is where the true story starts, according to Daul. Suho’s struggle against the Outer Gods is fully explored and now available on the online platform. Undoubtedly, both the Tapas completion of the novel and the Ize Press physical release are connected, even though no official statement ties the two together. The timing would be far too convenient otherwise.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok’s Future English Releases

Solo Leveling Ragnarok Future English Releases

At the moment, only the original Solo Leveling has gained immense hype all over the world. After all, it is Jinwoo's story that has gotten an anime adaptation and been brought to global attention by Japanese studios Aniplex and A-1 Pictures. Both Solo Leveling Season 1 from 2024 and Solo Leveling Season 2 from 2025 have become massive hits and stand as Crunchyroll’s most popular releases. That said, Jinwoo's success, while greatly overshadowing that of Suho, is only there to help Solo Leveling: Ragnarok in the grand scheme of things. Fans interested in Sung Jinwoo’s story will definitely want to eventually check out the sequel to his story, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, and the likes of Ize Press and Tapas can see that, which is why they’re investing in the sequel. That is primarily why they are looking forward to fully releasing Solo Leveling: Ragnarok both online and physically in English. While the online library is now complete, we now await the physical release, which should see the unveiling of around 15 volumes.

Aside from the light novel, we will also continue to see the release of the physical version of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok’s Manhwa in English. While the first volume was released in July 2026, the second one is already planned and scheduled for release in October 2026 via Ize Press. We’re eagerly awaiting Solo Leveling: Ragnarok's entrance into the mainstream discussion, which is only going to be inevitable with Solo Leveling reaching new heights of popularity, especially in 2027, when the long-awaited new theatrical release, Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, is released.

The more Jinwoo’s popularity grows, the higher the chances of Suho’s story receiving an adaptation of its own. Eventually, we hope to see Aniplex and A-1 Pictures combine once again to pick up the story and bring it to life. For now, the biggest upcoming project for Sung Suho is the Manhwa. Solo Leveling Ragnarok’s Manhwa went on a sudden hiatus in January 2026, after Jin, the artist behind the series, had to take a leave due to obligatory military enlistment. This put Suho’s Solo Leveling: Ragnarok on pause. We expect the manhwa to return with its third season either in late 2026 or early 2027. Until its return and further continuation, the English release will also have to be on hold.
