As part of the Stage 1 mini games in Rhythm Heaven Groove, it's not the Hoop Trundling game that'll make you tear your hair out; it's not the cutesy umbrella-themed one called Brolly Good Show; it's the third one called Disc Dog, in which an annoying woman on a beach throws a Frisbee, and you need to control a dog's jump to catch it on the count of 7.
It took me a couple of tries just to successfully clear this Rhythm Heaven Groove mini-game (maybe I'll come back and get the Medal later), and one very specific "trick" helped me beat it without missing too many discs. And I'm not the only one struggling with this challenge — you can see for yourself on Reddit just how many people are complaining about it!
How to Beat Disc Dog in Rhythm Heaven Groove
The one major tip that I have for Rhythm Heaven Groove players to beat Disc Dog is to simply close your eyes. Yes, close them! You'll hear the whistles from the Frisbee thrower, and then tap your foot or say the numbers out loud, and once you get to the count of 7, jump with the A button. You need to press the button exactly when the count reaches 7, not a second earlier or later.
Try not to rely on watching the flying disc to gauge the perfect time to jump, because that is not the right call and will only cause you to miss catches. Most of the games in Rhythm Heaven Groove can actually be completed without actually looking for visual cues --you just need to feel the music and listen to the sound cues.
Once you clear Disc Dog, you'll unlock the final standalone minigame in Stage 1, Feeding the Beast. And then, you'll have to complete a level with all four Stage 1 minigames combined into a remix.
