About Marc Deschamps
Marc Deschamps has been writing about video games and popular culture for more than a decade, at various outlets. Prior to joining GameRant, Marc served as a freelancer, staff writer, and editor at sites like IGN, Nintendojo, and ComicBook. Gaming is one of Marc's oldest loves, but he also has a deep background in comics and movies. In addition to being a published comic writer, Marc is a Rotten Tomatoes-verified critic that has reviewed movies and interviewed directors, actors, and actresses.
Industry Focus
While Marc has a passion for covering Nintendo franchises like Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, and Zelda, he also loves writing about Sonic, Resident Evil, and games based on comics. That passion has given him the opportunity to attend preview events, review major games, and interview industry figures such as Davide Soliani, Nate Bihldorff, and Yuri Lowenthal.
Favorite Console
Marc's all-time favorite console is the Nintendo Switch. He has a collection of more than 100 physical games for the system, topping the substantial number he once owned for the GameCube.
Favorite Movies
Going to the movies is one of Marc's absolute favorite things to do. He has a love for horror and superhero movies in particular, but will see just about anything, sometimes without even watching a trailer first. His all-time favorite films include Halloween, Jurassic Park, Transformers: The Movie, Star Wars, Scream, Pulp Fiction, Dogma, Step Brothers, Spider-Man 2, and Captain America: The First Avenger.
