Power Rangers is one of the most popular superhero shows of all time. For this reason, the series has had a plethora of profitable toy deals. From these deals, the idea of the battlizer was born. Even though the concept was originally created to sell toys, it has become one of many fans' favorite parts of the series. Each Red Ranger, since Andros, has a distinct Battlizer, but not all of them are created equal.
The Battlizers have since become almost synonymous with the Red Ranger's role as a leader. The power-up symbolizes each Ranger's distinct journey and power. They usually come with a significant boost in strength, but certain Battlizers are clearly superior to others, especially when the modern era is concerned.
10 The Red Sentinel Ranger Is Cool, But Has One Major Flaw
Power Rangers: Overdrive
The Red Overdrive Ranger has access to an incredibly cool Battlizer, but it has one major flaw. The power-up cannot be used by any organic lifeform. Thankfully, Hartfort is originally an android, meaning he can use the transformation with ease. Hartfort eventually loses this ability once he becomes fully human at the end of the Overdrive series.
The Red Sentinel Ranger is essentially the Red Overdrive Ranger, fusing with the Sentinel Knight itself. Yet, Mack maintains full control once the two are fused. The battlizer also appears to be a majority of Hartfort's enhanced powers and abilities, rather than a right out combination of the two. The distinction makes the form decidedly different than the popular concept of fusion from the Dragon Ball franchise.
9 Red Fury Mode is Simple & Sleek
Power Rangers: Beast Morphers
The Red Beast Morpher's temporary Battlizer is the best of the best, when it comes to simple and sleek design. It is relatively overwhelming in the grand scope of the concept, but is one of the greatest designs of its respective iteration. Sadly, the Battlizer is only used temporarily. In the series, the Red Beast Morpher's Ranger eventually realized the Power-Up was leading him down the path of evil due to its enhanced powers.
The form is decidedly cooler than the Beast Morpher's other form, Beast-X. Red Fury Mode is one of the only examples of a transformation coming with an inherent morality. Red Fury Mode is also exclusive to the Red Ranger himself, unlike the Beast-X forms, which can be easily utilized by the entire team.
8 Shogun Mode is Only Used Outside the Megazords a Single Time
Power Rangers: Samurai
The Shogun Modes are utilized by all the Samurai Rangers, but only the Red Ranger has ever used it outside a Megazord. Jaden famously uses the transformation, during his final battle against Master Xandred. This is incredibly important since it is really the only time the Shogun mode's power is truly expressed.
The transformation is activated by channeling the power of the Samurai ancestors into the Rangers' morphers, which enable them to participate in some of the most important battles of the series. It is also one of the most used Battlizer in the entire series, being introduced in Season 1, Episode 6 of the series. The Shogun Mode can also be further enhanced by the Rangers' further Super Mode, but that is never once used outside the Megazord cockpit.
7 Dino Knight Mode Is the Coolest Modern Battlizer
Power Rangers: Dino Fury
The Dino Knight Mode is one of the coolest Battlizers of the modern series. The Dino Knight mode combines the power of every previous dino key, but isn't exclusively used by Zayto. Several other members of the Dino Fury Rangers have utilized the form, including Dino Fury Black, but their color always changes to Red. It might not be Zayto's most powerful form, but it is easily one of the coolest.
Interestingly enough, Amelia Jones never utilizes the transformation even though she replaces Zayto as the Red Ranger. The Power-Up also must be considered weaker than other Battlizers since it is largely abandoned in favor of superior transformations. Thankfully, the Dino Knight Mode's epic look makes up for its relative weakness compared to the other more powerful Dino Fury forms.
6 The Tri-Battlized Armor Original Had More than One User
Power Rangers: Ninja Storm
The Tri-Battlized armor is over-designed, but its various armor pieces offer an actual use. The Battlizer has two distinct modes for both ground and flight. The flight mode is easily the Battlizer's superior form due to the Ultra Lazer alone. The Ultra Lazer is largely considered one of the coolest finishers in the series, but wouldn't have been possible without the Battlizer to begin with.
Interestingly enough, each of the Ninja Rangers was supposed to receive Battlized forms, but it never came to fruition. Concept art exists of the Navy Thunder Ranger in a "stealth" form, but it sadly was never utilized within the series. Hopefully, the designs could be reworked for a later iteration since they are extremely cool looking and likely ultra powerful.
5 The S.P.D. Battlizer Makes the Red Ranger Look like a Police Car, in the Best Way Possible
Power Rangers: S.P.D.
The S.P.D. Battlizer has two distinct modes, one of which is clearly stronger than the original. Cyber mode is the much sleeker of the two modes, and is mostly a cosmetic upgrade. That said, the Battlizer also gives the S.P.D. Red Ranger access to the Cyber sword which is extremely powerful.
At any point, the S.P.D. Red Ranger can also activate Sonic Mode, which is the clearly superior version of the Battlizer. In Sonic Mode, Landors gains access to two jet packs and the Cyber Sword receives a further upgrade. The Sonic Mode sword has the power to combust, and is primarily used in the form's finisher. The finisher can also be used to contain enemies just as well as it can destroy them.
4 The Triassic Battlizer Brings the Best of the Dino Thunder Rangers into One Design
Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
The Triassic Battlizer is fascinating due to its variety of interesting powers. Not only can the Red Triassic rRnager use the mode to stretch each of his limbs, but he also has two powerful shoulder-mounted cannons. Connor Mcknight activates the form after he finally believes in his powers, and through the help of Tommy Oliver.
Oliver might never have gotten a Batllizer himself, but it is a key to Connor receiving his. His finishing move is nigh unstoppable and is one of the most powerful sci-fi transformations of the Disney-era. Sadly, the transformation is introduced relatively late into the series and isn't given enough time to shine compared to other Battlizers.
3 The Red Dragon Fire Ranger is the Series' Best Fantasty-Esque Design
Power Rangers: Mystic Force
The Red Dragon Fire Ranger is easily the most powerful and popular of the fantasy-related battlizers. It has retractable wings, and possesses the ability to cast both offensive and defensive spells. The ability is activated upon Nick Russel's merge with Fire Heart and his fulfillment of his role as the Legendary warrior. The Red Dragon Ranger isn't Nick's only transformation, but it is easily the most powerful.
The Battlizer is extremely significant as it gives Nick Russell the power to fight what could be considered an eldritch being. Octomus is easily one of the strongest of the Power Rangers' villains. The fact that Russell can possess the ability to contend with the villain at all means his Batllizer is astoundingly powerful.
2 Andros is the First Red Ranger to Receive a Battlizer in Power Rangers' History
Power Rangers: In Space
Andros is often considered one of the greatest Red Rangers in the series, for good reason. He is also the first Red Ranger to receive a battlizer within the popular franchise. Andros' Battlizer is incredibly powerful, flies incredibly fast and has an insane missile launcher. This clearly set the tone for Battlizer's in the rest of the franchise. It might've been created solely to increase toy sales, but that doesn't mean it isn't completely iconic.
In addition to an incredible jet pack, the power-up also appears to give him a somewhat significant boost to his physical strength. His appearance is severely boosted ane he possesses incredibly large muscles in this form. It is widely remembered as one of the pivotal moments of the early season, and many fans still have their original toy from this era of the series.
1 The Red Savage Warrior is one of the Coolest Designs in the Entire Franchise
Power Rangers: Wild Force
The Red Savage Warrior form is the best Battlizer in the entire franchise. It can do everything the other Battlizer's can and so much more. The form cannot stretch, but it can fire energy blasts, fly, and possess an impressive shield. Using this form, Cole lives up to his potential as one of the strongest Rangers in the entire series.
The popular Battlizer contains everything that makes the transformation iconic. Cole truly empowers what it means to be a Ranger in this form, and it has stood the test of time for several years. Even fans who haven't seen Power Rangers: Wild Force are aware of Cole's impressive power-ups.
