Following a hectic break schedule, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the series, is once again diving deep into the chaotic battles that are currently underway in Elbaf. This week's chapter is sure to expand upon the clash between Nerona Imu and the Wing of the late Pirate King, Scopper Gaban.
One Piece Chapter 1190 is going to be crucial when it comes to subduing the threat of Nerona Imu and pushing him out of Elbaf. At the same time, we are expecting Monkey D. Luffy to be officially rescued in this chapter and a setup of the pathway to his return to battle against the King of the World. All these things and more are going to be tackled in One Piece Chapter 1190, which fans can read on Manga Plus at 11 a.m. EST on August 9.
One Piece Chapter 1190 Will Finally Show Gaban Vs Imu
At the end of the previous chapter, Eiichiro Oda set up an incredibly exciting clash in the story when Scopper Gaban, the Left Arm of the late Pirate King, sprang into action to defend Luffy from Nerona Imu's Xingtian Axe. This axe is one of the weapons of the creators of the World Government and would have taken Luffy's head and ended his life once and for all. Thankfully, Gaban was right in front of him and defended him from certain death. With his own axes charged up with high-level Conqueror's Haki, Scopper Gaban has now joined the battle, and Eiichiro Oda will highly likely continue this clash throughout the chapter.
It must be noted that Gaban is an incredibly strong fighter and, when it comes to usage of Conqueror's Haki, probably the best that Elbaf has to offer. At the same time, Nerona Imu is quite easily the strongest character in the world of One Piece, despite being in a nerfed state currently. All things considered, Scopper Gaban vs. Nerona Imu is probably going to be the best and most chaotic battle that we will have seen in the Elbaf arc, and One Piece Chapter 1190 is going to bring it to life in various ways.
As Oda illustrates this battle, fans need to keep in mind that Gaban is way out of his prime right now. When in his prime, Scopper Gaban would have been powerful enough to stop the influence of Nerona Imu, or at the very least stall him to buy time. Right now, Gaban is old, so we should not expect much from him. All we can do is hope that Gaban delays Imu for long enough and perhaps showcases advanced Conqueror's Haki techniques that can counter Imu's sky-high defense.
Scopper Gaban's New Haki Abilities Vs Imu Could Pave The Way For Luffy's Revitalization
In One Piece Chapter 1152, Scopper Gaban officially told Luffy to keep in mind how he uses his Supreme King Haki. This is because Gaban specifically wanted Luffy to counter the immortality of the enemies who showed up in Elbaf. While Luffy has done incredibly well against the likes of Sommers, he faced a completely different level when he faced off against Imu. In this battle, his Conqueror's Haki doesn't seem to be even remotely different from what it was in the previous arcs.

This is where Scopper Gaban's role is going to shine in One Piece Chapter 1190. Gaban is a master of Conqueror's Haki and known to be one of its very best users. He is so proficient that he can even tell who possesses Conqueror's Haki and who doesn't, which is a skill that even Rayleigh or Garp did not have. Undoubtedly, Scopper Gaban has applications of Conqueror's Haki that Luffy has yet to learn, and he could very well show it to him directly in One Piece Chapter 1190. Using his unique Haki applications, Gaban might even be able to smartly counter Nerona Imu in battle, even if it comes at the cost of his own life, and that is something that we are eagerly waiting to see.
Luffy is bound to be freed eventually after being stabbed by the Blade of Nothingness: Vohu and the Blade of the Sea God: Fragarach. When he is freed, Gaban should have provided him with the tools to counter Nerona Imu, which is why this battle that is currently ongoing is extremely important. Depending on how Oda wants to pace things, Scopper Gaban could fall at the end of One Piece Chapter 1190 after having done his part by showing Luffy how to injure Imu, as well as saving his life and freeing him from the shackles. If Oda wants to deliver a more exciting battle, then Gaban versus Imu could potentially go on for more chapters, and that is also something that we would absolutely relish.
Zoro and Sanji Will Finally Face Off Against Sommers And Killingham In One Piece Chapter 1190
Gaban vs Imu aside, One Piece Chapter 1190 is also likely to focus on the exciting battles of Zoro and Sanji, the two Wings of Luffy. Both Zoro and Sanji are incredibly powerful; however, they are yet to make any significant progress in the battle against Sommers and Killingham. Right now, both Sommers and Killingham are incredibly overpowered, with strength comparable to the likes of the Admirals. Sommers has access to Nerona Imu's Omen, and so does Killingham. In the case of Sommers, the Omen granted him access to the Blade of Wrath: Gram, and in the case of Killingham, he was granted the Blade of Holy Command: Longinus. Both these weapons, as well as the Omen, have powered them up significantly, and it will be interesting to see how Zoro and Sanji deal with the threat they face in front of them. Zoro and Sanji vs Sommers and Killingham is highly likely to continue in One Piece Chapter 1190, but their conclusion is not going to be reached anytime soon.

Meanwhile, One Piece Chapter 1190 is also likely going to focus on Princess Shuri. Brook has officially rescued her from the ice, but she is yet to wake up. It is only a matter of time before Shuri wakes up, and when she does, whom she sides with in Elbaf is going to decide the fate of the country once and for all. We absolutely cannot wait for One Piece Chapter 1190 to drop and for the Elbaf climax to get even more intense. After a two-week-long break, Eiichiro Oda's story is expected to reach a new high. Unfortunately, Weekly Shonen Jump is going on a break right after, which means that we will have to wait even further following the release of Chapter 1190 to see the Elbaf battles conclude.
