Mason is a Guide Writer from the United Kingdom, aiming to strip out the jargon games assume people to have before the tutorial event starts. Tabletop roleplaying, board games or video games, nowhere is safe. When he's able to escape from playing XCOM Long War, he's probably reading an indie visual novel about depression or making a janky DnD character that will make his Dungeon Master cry.   

Favorite Games

My XCOM 2 playtime is measured in the thousands of hours, spread across the base game, DLC and modded campaigns. 
Library of Ruina is an underrated gem my friends can't stop me from gushing about. 
Celeste's music and affirmative message have carried me through stressful times. I still use the breathing technique with the feather when I'm overwhelmed. 

Industry Focus

Tabletop Roleplaying is one topic I follow zealously even when I'm not writing about it. I'm a regular GM and player in a fistful of different systems and I'm always excited for new CRPGs that adapt the tabletop experience. I love seeing how mechanics get translated, adapted and reinterpreted by different design teams. 

Proudest Gaming Achievement

In Outer WIlds, I found the Eye's coordinates and reached it in a single loop. It was satisfying to plot out a route like a speedrunner and refine it over multiple attempts until I could execute it perfectly. Its amazing how the only thing locking progression in the game is the players' knowledge of the world.
