Why It Matters
Game of Thrones is broadly credited as the essential fantasy fiction of the 2010s. But for me, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt deserves the title. Released in 2015, it's as beautiful, inventive, and absorbing as any new release. And unlike GoT, it stuck its landing – and then doubled down with A+ DLC.
