About The Role

Position Title: North America Pro Social Media Manager & Content Creator

Position Overview: This role is responsible for building and engaging the North America professional community through social media and content. It brings the KEVIN.MURPHY brand to life for stylists, salons, and distributors creating relevant, credible, and inspiring content that drives education, advocacy, and growth in the professional channel. Sitting within Marketing & Creative, this role ensures social and content are strategically aligned to brand priorities, product launches, education, and local North America commercial goals. This is a hands-on, highly autonomous role for someone who understands how to create social-first, motion-led content that feels relevant, elevated, and culturally in tune with the professional hair industry. You will play a key role in building a stronger North American presence by developing a consistent, high-quality content stream that reflects both our education platform and product brand.

This is not a traditional social media role. You will be responsible for what we capture, how we capture it, and how it comes to life across channels.

Top Priorities for Success in this role

  1. Social Media Strategy & Management (NA Pro)
  2. Community Engagement & Growth
  3. Strategic Content Development
  4. Performance & Reporting

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management:

  • Monitor and engage with direct messages and comments on NA Pro social platforms.
  • Like and engage with tagged posts to foster community growth.
  • Source and follow relevant accounts to increase brand visibility.
  • Post and share stories across platforms to maintain brand presence.
  • Create and post Reels, stories, and static posts.
  • Report on social media engagement, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Content Capture & Production

  • Capture content across:
  • Education sessions, workshops, and in-salon environments
  • Brand events (Glam Camps, HTT tours, masterclasses)
  • Behind-the-scenes at shoots and activations (distributor, retail & otherwise)
  • Product storytelling + product launch content
  • Day to day ‘on-trend' moments with internal KM team
  • Lead with a clear creative POV:
  • Hair-first storytelling
  • Focus on process, technique, and real moments—not overly staged content

Editing & Delivery

  • Edit content end-to-end across formats:
  • Short-form (Reels, Stories, TikTok, YouTube & YouTube Shorts)
  • Mid-form educational + brand content
  • BTS and narrative-driven edits
  • Deliver high-quality content at pace, without compromising on taste

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:
  • Education teams (technical credibility and relevance)
  • Creative teams (brand alignment and visual direction)
  • Social/Digital teams (distribution and performance)

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hybrid skillset: shooting + editing at a high level
  • Experience capturing hair, beauty, or hands-on craft (not just lifestyle content)
  • Understanding of professional salon culture and stylist mindset
  • Ability to make process-led content feel compelling and engaging
  • Highly self-sufficient, a self-starter
  • Comfortable working both collaboratively and independently
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong eye for framing, movement, light, and texture
  • Able to operate in fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable environments
  • Confident taking direction—but equally confident trusting your instinct

Education and Experience:

  • 4+ years experience in social media management (beauty, hair, or professional industry preferred)
  • 2+ years experience in content creation (beauty, hair, or professional industry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of the professional hair/stylist community
  • Proven ability to create engaging, high-performing social content (especially short-form video)
  • Experience managing brand social channels with a clear strategic lens
  • Confident in content capture (Sony, Canon, or equivalent) and editing tools (e.g. Premiere, Adobe Suite, Final Cut, mobile-first editing)
  • Experienced with color grading and sound editing
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to brand tone of voice
  • Analytical mindset with experience using social and reporting tools
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work across global and regional teams
