Role Description The Editor role at JeffScottShaw is a full-time remote position focused on shaping visual stories through careful selection and refinement of photo and video content. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing raw footage and images, organizing and tagging assets, selecting the best takes, and editing content to align with the creative vision and client requirements. The Editor will collaborate with the creative lead to refine narrative flow, pacing, and visual style, and prepare deliverables in various formats for commercial, film, and wedding projects. Responsibilities also include ensuring consistency in color, sound, and visual quality, maintaining project timelines, and communicating clearly with stakeholders about revisions and approvals. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency and creative judgment to help bring each client’s story to life.
Qualifications

• Strong video and photo editing skills using industry-standard tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, Photoshop).
• Experience in narrative and documentary-style editing, with an understanding of pacing, visual continuity, and storytelling structure.
• Ability to manage and organize large volumes of media files, including logging, tagging, and maintaining a clear project workflow.
• Attention to detail in color correction, sound synchronization, basic audio cleanup, and overall visual quality control.
• Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear written and verbal communication and responsiveness to feedback and revision requests.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in both high-pressure environments and more casual settings.
• Prior experience editing commercial, film, or wedding content is strongly preferred.
• Relevant education or training in film, media production, photography, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
