I had the privilege of hosting an hour-long panel with two members of our Strategic Advisory Council, Luis Solana and Dov Shenkman, on a topic that couldn’t be more relevant: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜? After leading both Product Marketing and Sales Enablement throughout my career, Sales has always been my primary internal customer. My job isn’t to make slides... it’s to build confident, curious, capable AEs who can cut through noise and create clarity. A few truths that stood out: • Buyers don’t want AI. They want outcomes. • Differentiation is earned in the first 5 minutes. • Confidence comes from narrative, not feature depth. Huge credit to Jaime Chambers and Stephanie Deo for delivering one of the most sales-focused, execution-oriented SKOs I’ve been part of. The market isn’t getting easier in 2026. That’s exactly why alignment, enablement, and disciplined positioning matter more than ever. Onward.

When my 10 year career run ended mid 2024, I decided to make the most of the change. I took a career break - something I hadn’t done since…well, ever. Deciding to pause wasn't easy at all. The job market is incredibly tough. The risks are very real. But my husband and I often talk about “10-year decisions” and moments you look back on years later and say, "I’m glad I did that". Life isn't linear, growth isn't linear. This break has been one of those moments: * Being present with my kid and doing school drops/pickups every day * Spending time with my senior dog, losing him, grieving * Fully focusing on nutrition, and getting strong - this was to build a foundation for the long game * Exploring entrepreneurship and starting a small hobby shop * Building businesses and incubating ideas * Looking for mentors and upskilling I've been thinking of experiences and learning opportunities I've gathered along the way, and the latest of my roles was spent as part of Karthick Natarajan's team, and I thank him and my international vis team at FourKites, Inc. for all their support and creating avenues for me to contribute, and grow. Now, I’m back and approaching the market in these two ways: * Actively searching for my next full-time role — Product Management roles * Actively seeking fractional and contract work The future of work is evolving, and I’m embracing it. There’s a lot of overlap with product marketing — customer-first thinking, simplifying messy problems, and trying to make complex things feel obvious. A habit I’ve picked up over the last year is looping UX into reviews of complex slides or messaging that feels a little stuck. Not for polish, but for perspective. When you’re deep in the weeds of the technology, it’s easy to lose sight of how something actually lands. A few sharp UX brains help you zoom out and see it the way someone else will. Really grateful for our UX team at FourKites — John Barrett , Rohit Menon , Christopher Gnanadurai , and Angela Simon — who’ve been some of the best business partners I’ve had during a period of real change. 🔥

Finally — some real A&D data, backed by broader benchmarks. 🙌 Our industry is niche (understatement of the year), so I’m always digging for data that compares Aerospace & Defense to other markets in a way that actually makes sense. This report confirmed something I’ve long suspected: A&D brands are posting less than nearly every other industry — and when we do post, we’re often underleveraging the content we do share. And that’s frustrating, because creating truly good content isn’t easy. So when we do put in that effort… it deserves more than a quick post that disappears into the void. It also reinforced a belief I’ve held for years: We may have longer sales cycles and more skeptical audiences, but that doesn’t mean we can’t test smart marketing strategies from B2C — as long as we adapt them with the right context and nuance. But one thing I wish this report had gone deeper on? LinkedIn. No platform holds more potential for A&D than LinkedIn — from building thought leadership to attracting talent to shaping vendor credibility before a sales call even happens. This isn’t just a nice-to-have channel — it’s essential. We broke this down in more detail in the AERPOWER post below. The launch of #AtmosRewards, the new joint loyalty platform from Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, marks another step in the evolution of loyalty branding, extending the brand experience beyond simple pricing incentives. Interbrand’s research found that traditional loyalty programs are often perceived as overly complex, transactional, and offering limited value to customers. Following Alaska Airlines’ acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, the decision was made to create a shared loyalty platform with a different vision. Our team in NYC was tasked with developing a program that would transform rewards into gateways for travelers, rather than just points or discounts. Introducing Atmos Rewards is one of the first steps in the airlines’ long-term growth and transformation strategy. It also serves as a key driver of relevance for the next generation of travelers. We've managed this feat a few times in the history of the company, and each time is equally amusing! The secret is almost always page layout with very intentional sub-headings. Corporate pages will have to be designed as a brochure while we can organize the page as a consumer would need it set up. Searchers are trying to solve a problem, and our page can be set up to answer those questions. This is a research focused query on a new model, and you are looking for longer form answers to each question. This setup works best with new model releases, and the strategy for established models is different.

Most product designers I’ve intervieweed have never heard of an RFP. And honestly, why would they? In product companies, you build features and ship. Simple. An RFP (Request for Proposal) is where it all begins in a service company. It’s how we win projects, pitch solutions, and even decide what kind of design work lands on our plate. I’ve seen so many designers feel lost when they first hear about RFPs, “Why is there so much documentation before we even start designing?” “What’s all this pre-sales talk?” So I made a quick reel breaking it down in plain, no-jargon language. What it is. Why it matters. And why, as a designer in a service setup, you should care.
