Nnamdi Okike shared thisIt is privilege to have been selected to the ForbesBLK Money Masters List. First off, it is wonderful to be joined by my co-founder Aaron Holiday, with whom I've built 645 Ventures over the past twelve years. More than that, it is truly humbling to be recognized alongside individuals who have been role models over the course of my career, and who have played instrumental roles as mentors and supporters of 645. Those include David J. Grain, Mellody Hobson, Larry Morse, Joann Price, Ursula Burns, Charles Phillips, Damien Dwin, Sengal Selassie and Robert F. Smith. All of them, and many more, have paved the way, knocking down barriers and setting an example for us and future money masters to come. https://lnkd.in/exAQud9S

Nnamdi Okike shared thisWe're excited to back Veronica Ma, Kelly Zhou and Ashish Dsa as they build Arbor to become the leading provider of AI for frontline operations. Arbor's AI platform enables enterprises to understand employee insights and act on them, and they're already doing this for many great companies. Check them out at https://www.findarbor.com/.Nnamdi Okike shared thisWhen I set out with Kelly Zhou & Ashish Dsa to build Arbor, we knew the world didn't need a another survey, AI buzzword, or static dashboard. We knew the people closest to the work, the employees and customers on the ground, in the field, on the frontlines, hold the day-to-day experience, tribal knowledge, and ideas that can truly transform a business. Too often, that knowledge never reaches the people making decisions. At Arbor, we unlock ground truth from real conversations, turning what people already know into something leaders can actually act on. To scale that mission, we're announcing today our $6.3M of funding, led by 645 Ventures (Nnamdi Okike and Lexi Quirk), with participation from Next Play Ventures, Chaac Ventures, Comma Capital. I'm proud to be celebrating the team, who by building with such care, conviction, and focus, have gotten us to this milestone. I'm also grateful to our early partners who believe that human insight should be as operationally essential as financial data. https://lnkd.in/ed36d3THArbor Raises $6.3M to Turn Frontline Voices into Operational IntelligenceArbor Raises $6.3M to Turn Frontline Voices into Operational Intelligence

Nnamdi Okike reposted thisExcited to partner with Riya Grover, Enda Cahill, and the entire Sequence team. I knew after our first meeting that this was a team and company we wanted to work with. We are very proud at 645 Ventures to be leading Sequence's Series A and cannot wait to support them along the way.Nnamdi Okike reposted thisSequence has secured a $20M Series A, led by 645 Ventures, alongside Andreessen Horowitz, firstminute capital, Passion Capital, DIG Ventures, Vor Capital and a group of exceptional founders and CFOs from companies like Decagon, Klaviyo and Wise, to build AI agents that automate revenue operations 🚀 Over the last year Sequence has scaled to 100+ customers, achieved 10x ARR growth, and now automates over $1bn in annual invoice volume for companies like incident, Bridge, Legora, Runway, Cognition, 11x, Raspberry AI, Moonpay and Bill. Sequence has eliminated the most manual and painful parts of revenue operations from billing and invoice automation to real-time revenue recognition, turning days of work into an automated workflow. This is just the beginning. The raise allows us to invest deeply in advancing agentic automation across revenue operations, to empower finance teams with AI co-pilots that increase efficiency while maintaining 100% accuracy—no black-box solutions, just deterministic, reliable outcomes. A huge thank you to all our customers and partners who have helped to get us here.

Nnamdi Okike shared thisI really enjoyed speaking with Nick Moran about the vision that Aaron Holiday and I had for founding 645 Ventures a decade ago, and how that vision has come to fruition. I also enjoyed telling the stories of some of our firm's best investments, and how they fit within our strategy. Thank you Nick for the opportunity.Nnamdi Okike shared thisMost VCs talk about sourcing. Nnamdi Okike built a software platform to do it with precision—and it’s helped 645 Ventures find and lead some of the best under-the-radar startups of the last decade. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Nnamdi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at 645 Ventures, to talk about his journey from Insight Partners to building one of the most methodical early-stage firms in the game. We cover how Nnamdi sourced Facebook in 2004, what he learned from Insight’s outbound model, why most databases fall short, and how 645 uses frameworks like “founder paradigms” to assess quality where others see risk. We also dive into the firm's contrarian bets on companies like Resident, Panther, and RentSpree, how to win in “well-covered” categories, and why many of the best opportunities are where consensus says not to look. Nnamdi Okike liked thisVariance is building something that compliance teams have been asking for: AI that does the work, not just the flagging. Big congrats to the Variance team on raising their Series A! 🎉Nnamdi Okike liked thisToday, we're announcing that Variance has raised $21M. The future of investigations will be agentic. Fortune 500s trust our agents to conduct millions of investigations every day across identity investigations, AML compliance, and enhanced due diligence at a scale and level of precision that did not exist a few years ago. Auditability is the one bottleneck to agentic adoption, and our team has built the entire system from the ground up with regulated industries in mind. After onboarding Variance, customers see 1/ Auditable, traceable, and defensible decisions at scale rather than black box scores 2/ 50% more consistent enforcement of policies vs. manual investigations 3/ Evidence gathering for complex cases reduced from weeks to minutes All of this is possible with no complex integrations, thanks to agents capable of browsing legacy tools. This round was led by Ten Eleven Ventures, with continued participation from 645 Ventures, Y Combinator, Urban Innovation Fund, Okta. Grateful to our team, and to our customers for trusting us early. If you're excited about building serious technology, reach out at karine@variance.com

Nnamdi Okike liked thisNnamdi Okike liked thisYesterday marked six years since we first incorporated what became Topline Pro. Making this milestone even more memorable, in the preceding 30 days alone, we grew more than we did in our entire first 3 years combined. But what matters most is what that growth represents. Most of our customers don't have a marketing team. They don't have a sales team. They don't have investors backing them. They're answering calls from job sites, quoting from their truck, and trying to grow a business with a million things pulling their attention at once. Adding to all of this, they are dependent on their businesses success for their livelihood. This growth means more of them are booking jobs they wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Crews staying busy. Owners getting a little more time with their families. All made possible by building for the long tail businesses that are often forgotten by tech. Six years in, that mission has never felt more urgent or more possible. Grateful for our team and customers making it happen.

Nnamdi Okike liked thisNnamdi Okike liked thisToday I was named the Official Food Curator of America's 250th Anniversary. It's the first appointment of its kind. I need to sit with that for a second. Because for most of my life I was just a guy who couldn't stop driving to the next town to find the place the locals swore by. The BBQ joint with no sign. The lobster shack you had to know someone to find. The bakery that's been making the same rolls since your grandparents were kids. The stories behind the food have always been the most extraordinary part. The clam chowder that warmed New England docks before there was a country. The tamales that traveled north with families who built the Southwest. The BBQ that slow-smoked through centuries of Black American ingenuity. The pastrami that Romanian Jewish immigrants carved from the cuts nobody wanted. The pizza that arrived from Naples and became something no one in Naples would recognize. That obsession became Goldbelly. Then someone asked me to write it all down. The congressionally established America250 Commission appointed me to create the first official record of American food. In 250 years, we've never had one. We have a Library of Congress. A Smithsonian. But nobody has ever written down the food. Now we are. "250 Dishes That Made America". State by state. Story by story. And not just a record - we're bringing these foods to tables across the country so America can taste its own story together. For 250 years, America's been saying I love you through food. Now everyone gets a seat at the table.

Nnamdi Okike liked thisNnamdi Okike liked thisI’m thrilled to share that I'm joining ReflexAI as Head of Marketing. ReflexAI builds AI-powered simulations that help frontline teams practice and master the conversations that matter most: crisis support and complex customer interactions for organizations like the U.S. Dept of Veterans Affairs, Lines for Life, and many more across a range of industries. What drew me in is that the company is doing something genuinely different. While a lot of AI is focused on automating humans out of conversations, ReflexAI is focused on making humans better at them. As more routine interactions get automated, the ones that remain are harder, more nuanced, and higher-stakes. ReflexAI exists for the organizations that take those moments seriously. I've rarely felt this level of alignment between a product's mission and what I believe about where technology should take us. I can't wait to help get this story in front of the people who need to hear it. Week one highlight: a handwritten note from one of the cofounders. That's the kind of team this is. Grateful to Sam Dorison, John Callery-Coyne, Benji Gellman, and the rest of the team for the warm welcome. 💚🙌

Nnamdi Okike liked thisNnamdi Okike liked thisWhat an incredible few days in Washington with the National Venture Capital Association team and my fellow venture leaders! Walking the halls of Congress alongside policymakers to talk about what venture capital actually means was something special. Serving on the board of the NVCA has given me a deeper understanding of the complexity, impact and scope of the venture capital industry. Working in VC isn’t just about the returns, but backing founders who are solving seemingly impossible problems and building the companies that define what comes next. That story deserves to be told, and I'm so glad we got to tell it. Having the right policies in place is critical for entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into reality, for continuing to fuel our thriving VC/startup communities across the country, and for maintaining our dominance in global tech innovation. It was also fun to take the time with fellow board member Vineeta Agarwala, MD PhD, to see the beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom. Nnamdi Okike liked this🎉 Congratulations to Gimlet Labs, Inc. on its $80M Series A, fueling the growth of its inference cloud that runs complex AI agents dramatically faster and more efficiently.Nnamdi Okike liked thisWe're thrilled to announce Gimlet Labs' Series A funding, led by Menlo Ventures, and joined by Eclipse, Factory, Prosperity7 Ventures, and Triatomic Capital. Gimlet was founded out of the belief that AI inference would become the decade's defining infrastructure challenge. That challenge has become even more urgent with the rise of agentic workloads. Today, the top model providers are investing significantly in reducing agent latency. To deliver the next step of agent performance that will enable the next generation of software, we need to re-imagine the current infrastructure these agents run on. We designed Gimlet with heterogeneous hardware at its core, leveraging different types of hardware for different tasks, with a software orchestration layer to handle the complexity. So far, the result is 3-10X speedups on frontier models with large context windows, within the same power envelope. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gxe9j6Vj

Founders are often optimistic about growth. Sometimes, that confidence leads to funding ideas that don't fully pan out. Royalty-based growth capital is structured to limit downside risk compared to traditional venture-backed paths. Vik Thapar of Cypress Growth Capital explains that, even if outcomes fall short of early expectations, founders often still exit with meaningful results because they retain the majority of ownership. 🎙️ Tune into the Private Equity Value Creation Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gxkEsH3Z 👇🏽 Find Us Here https://lnkd.in/gTdPMk8P #privateequity #privateequitypodcast #privateequityvaluecreation

Is Delaware incorporation really the default choice for startups in 2026? For a small percentage of venture backed companies, yes. For most founders, it adds cost and complexity without real value. Incorporation should follow strategy, traction, and fundraising plans. Before choosing Delaware, ask whether your business truly requires it right now. Structure should support growth, not signal ambition. #startupstrategy #delawareincorporation #entrepreneurship

The new SaaS fundraising playbook is lean, focused, and unforgiving. 👇 Not so long ago, founders in LA could raise $5M with a big vision and a deck. Today? You need real traction, clear margins, and a finance stack that works. We’ve been watching the shift closely... and it’s not just anecdotal. Here’s what’s happening: • Late-stage deals are disappearing. Mega-rounds are rare. • Early-stage is still active, but round sizes are smaller. Median pre-seed is now $260K. • SAFEs dominate, valuations are flatter, and teams are staying tiny on purpose. • Investors care less about growth at all costs and more about Rule of 40 performance. • Usage-based pricing is up. Freemium is down. Pilots, paid trials, and outcome-based pricing are rising fast. • And the AI wave? It’s real. But it comes with scrutiny. Founders are raising less, hiring slower, and building smarter. And that makes financial clarity more important than ever. If your startup is trying to make the most out of a lean round, reach product-market fit without chaos, or structure your pricing and forecasting to support a raise in 2025... we can help. This market rewards precision. That’s what we’re built for -> CROWN
