Kimberly Mendoza shared thisWorking alongside talented folks like Uli is what made my experience at Coinbase the experience of a lifetime. Basically a software engineer wearing a Recruiter's hat, Uli would be a fantastic addition to anyone looking to uplevel their team. Network, don't sleep on this! Uli is truly an asset.Kimberly Mendoza shared thisIt's taken a few days to process, because I am so passionate about what I do--help to build engineering teams to conquer challenging problems. To say that I'm disappointed to not be able to do that at #coinbase is an understatement. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Coinbase and take pride in the teams and relationships I've helped to build. Kimberly Mendoza, Stephanie Marcellin, Greg Garrison, Grant D'Arcy, L.J. Brock and Tamie Jiang I couldn't have asked for a more supportive recruiting team. For my engineering partners Rob Martin, Jody Pearson and Mohammed Azhar Rukadikar I've so enjoyed working with you and it makes me proud that the teams that we've built together are still working on amazing things. If anyone is aware of any recruiting opportunities where someone like myself can make an impact, please let me know. I'll miss everyone at #coinbase and sincerely hope our paths cross again. Kimberly Mendoza posted thisAfter 2.5 exciting, challenging, and rewarding years working alongside some of the smartest and most talented folks I've had the privilege of meeting, my time at #Coinbase has, unfortunately, come to an end. I was caught in the latest round of #layoffs, alongside many stellar fellow #Coinbaes. To say I'm bummed is the understatement of the year, but I can't help but look back at my time at Coinbase with anything other than a heart full of appreciation and gratitude. Coinbase has this magical way of making the impossible possible and, through my time there, I've learned that you should always push past what you think your limit is and, when you get there, push just a little bit further. Stephanie thank you for encouraging me to take a leap of faith into the crypto world that I knew so little about, and for continuously challenging me thereafter to be the best version of myself that I could be. You believed in me more than I believed in myself most days, and for that I couldn't be more grateful. Joe Antocci I learned SO much from you in such a short amount of time. Thank you for always being such a great support system, sounding board, and teacher. And to my amazing Specialty Squad team, Ulibee Corner, Charlene L., Becky Ahmed, Mina Clahan, and Jason Pacheco, thanks for making my job just the easiest in the world. You all taught me so much, and I'm exceedingly grateful for the time we had together. These 2.5 years were, hands-down, the most fulfilling in my entire career, and I can't wait to apply all that I've learned in my next opportunity. To my network, please keep me in mind if you hear of any exciting opportunities - your girl is ready to dive in! Additionally, most of my team was also impacted, and I couldn't more highly recommend them. If you're looking to uplevel your Recruiting team, you couldn't have a more-qualified pool of folks. #opentowork

In the crypto-mindset of being transparent and open source, I’m sharing what’s worked for us and what we’ve learned in the first two years since we went remote-first. #coinbase #livecrypto #airbnb #remotefirst https://lnkd.in/g-t6J-Up

Kimberly Mendoza reacted on thisKimberly Mendoza reacted on thisVideo game programmer. Deputy Sheriff. Software Engineering Manager. Compression sleeve maker. I turned 50 and picked the last one. That's either the bravest or the dumbest thing I've ever done. I'm Brandon. I've been writing code since Windows 3.x. My first real job was building attorney support software. Then I programmed 3D graphics for a video game studio. Then I built software for the biggest skateboarding catalog in the country because I've been a skateboarder my whole life and that was the dream job. Then I became a Deputy Sheriff for 3 years. Long story. Came back to tech. Helped build Xfire (acquired by Viacom). Co-founded a startup. Spent almost 5 years at MyFitnessPal managing the teams that helped 130 million people track their meals. Managed engineering at ChargePoint. But the whole time, I was still skating. And skating was still destroying my back and knees. And every compression sleeve I tried was garbage. So in 2016, while I was still managing engineering teams full-time, I started making my own. Medical-grade. Knitted construction. Gear that actually does what it's supposed to do. That side project became Old Bones Therapy. Over 100,000 customers. Bootstrapped from day one. No investors, no board, no safety net. I've never been the type to talk about what I'm building. I've always been more comfortable building than broadcasting. But we've put together something at OBT that I think is worth sharing. The team, the systems, the things we've figured out along the way. So I'm going to start showing up here. For real this time. If you've ever taken a left turn in your career that nobody understood, I'd like to hear about it.

Our time this past week in Phoenix was special to me for a lot of reasons, but it was also my first time meeting many of my coworkers in person! Thank You to Bill Watt Ann Heaps Danielle Palladino and others for planning and executing our team off-sites. We have a few roles in engineering currently open (stay tuned for more roles in 2024 ;) - you can check them out at the link Bill shared. DM me if I can answer any questions!Kimberly Mendoza reacted on thisHome from an awesome week in PHX where we held Anomalo's Q4 2023 onsite. Great week working in person, having some excellent adventures, and I got to introduce the team to some of my favorite restaurants. I love the culture we're building. We take the time to celebrate the wins, reflect on areas where where we can do better, and I especially love how the org recognizes the hard work of the team. Also a good reminder I need to get back in shape... some of those AZ hikes hit a lot harder than they should have. ;-) Looking forward to (and starting to plan) the sessions for 2024. If one of our open roles looks like something you'd be interested in... you should apply now! https://lnkd.in/g2NSYwDA

Kimberly Mendoza reacted on thisKimberly Mendoza reacted on thisI am thrilled to say that I started a new job today as the Director, Global Recruiting for .efficiently. I would be remiss if I didn't say a HUGE THANK YOU to my network. MANY of you went above and beyond by sharing leads, checking in, being a positive voice when it felt like nothing was that positive, AND cheering me on from the sidelines. I truly can't say thank you enough!! For those that are still looking don't give up!!! There are great jobs out there. It's just going to take a bit more grit to land them. I'm here to help if I can. I'm excited about this new adventure....here we go!!

Looking for recommendations to Indeed Smart Sourcing (previously Indeed Resume) alternatives. All these other spiffy automation and AI sourcing tools ya'll recommend are cool, and I'm SO happy for ya'll. But if you don't recruit for GTM or Tech Talent....guess what....the data sources for those sourcing tools aren't even relevant. Shout out to my healthcare, manufacturing & skilled trades, and service industry Talent Acquisition professionals. We ride at dawn. DISCUSS below ⬇️
