Laurice Feller shared thisEncore!Laurice Feller shared thisWe're back! This time, Pop Up Mob did an overnight SWITCH with Rare Beauty to stun visitors at our Champs-Élysées SEPHORA installation, diving into their new fragrance launch. Our larger-than-life factice doubled as a photo booth, giving visitors a chance to snap (and print) a picture. Another must-see photo booth in Paris? Please! Plus, a custom-built product display wall with an insert for each and every scent. Come and visit, LIVE until August 26th! Want to plan an event for two-in-one launch? Laurice Feller reposted thisLaurice Feller reposted thisOoh la la! Once again, Pop Up Mob brought Rare Beauty to life in the Champs-Élysées SEPHORA- this time, for the launch of the new Positive Light Luminizing Lip Gloss. Rare's six new shades made their debut on the most iconic avenue in Paris, a stage for shimmer, softness, and that rare kind of radiance. This shop-in-shop experience was one for the books, featuring a life-size factice (that doubled as a product display), a sit-down vanity experience, and a beautiful immersive shade wall (perfect for photos and for finding your perfect tint). With just a 15 x 14 space, every inch was used to craft the guest experience and build a space that transported visitors to the world of Rare. Come and visit, LIVE until August 26... stay tuned for what's to come! Your next in-store activation & event should stand out as much as your brand! Laurice Feller shared thisWe got some good reading here, folks!Laurice Feller shared thisExciting news: Rare Beauty launched Rare Insider on Substack. Truth is, some of the best parts of Rare Beauty don’t always fit into a social post. The BTS moments, the why behind a product, the ❤️ behind the Rare Impact Fund…it ALL deserves a bit more space. And it’s (another) real chance to connect with our community. “Our gut check is: Does this make people feel good? Is this uplifting, interesting or adding value in a way beyond selling something?” MacKenzie Kassab We say Rare Beauty is made to feel good in. So, creating Rare Insider was a no-brainer to maintain that feel good momentum. If you’re curious, Modern Retail wrote a great piece about why we’re leaning into long-form and community-first platforms like Substack (thank you!) Laurice Feller reposted thisLaurice Feller reposted thisVeteran designer here, I've been in the design trenches a long time. Here are my protips. 1. Be skeptical of design influencers there is a lot of exciting trendy tricks and conflated promises that buying into their product will change your design practice, much of it is likely conflated and will not actually apply to your day to operations. In fact it could be thieving time better spent refining your skills and technique. 2. Study typography, this is the weakest link I observe amongst the work of junior and mid-career designers. 3. Always be learning, don't like inDesign, don't like AI, don't like learning new software? You know who doesn't care? Potential clients who need work done. 4. Want to be a specialist? Work in a specific industry and find your niche. It's a valid approach and you can teach other people how to use the software and techniques you are an expert in! 5. You can in fact be a successful generalist just do good work in everything you are working in. What are your tips fellow compatriots?

Laurice Feller liked thisLaurice Feller liked thisI just got back from OENO Camp in Charlottesville, Virginia, and I'm still thinking about everything I learned. Hosted by the Oenoverse and The Veraison Project, the weekend offered a thoughtful look at Virginia wine—not just through tastings, but through the people, history, and communities that shaped the region. One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was exploring the stories that often go untold. We learned about Burwell Colbert and Paul Jennings, two enslaved butlers who served former U.S. presidents, and James Hemings, the extraordinary chef whose influence helped shape American cuisine. From there, we spent the weekend tasting wines from producers across Virginia, visiting wineries, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at two of the state's collaborative winemaking hubs: Commonwealth Crush and the Virginia Wine Collective. Seeing how custom crush facilities can help lower barriers for emerging winemakers was one of the highlights of the trip. What impressed me most wasn't just the quality of the wines—it was how intentionally the experience was designed. Rather than simply promoting a wine region, OENO Camp connected Virginia's past with its present while highlighting the people building its future. It created space for wine professionals from across the country to learn, ask questions, and leave with a deeper understanding of why this region matters. Thank you to everyone who shared their knowledge, stories, and hospitality. I left inspired—and with a much greater appreciation for what Virginia wine has to offer.

Laurice Feller liked thisLaurice Feller liked thisA few people from my original AIGA cohort are quietly showing up for their chapters again, and it feels like getting the board band back together. Charles (Carlos) Carpenter and Elysia Syriac, supporting Colorado. David Hisaya Asari and Dawn Zidonis, in San Francisco. Lenny Terenzi in Raleigh. And in Seattle, Terry Marks, Wendy Quesinberry, and Erik Cargill—together, as a team. Total rock stars. Just like a design leadership reunion. These are the people I started my AIGA journey with, now finding their way back at the same time I am. And I am excited about getting the chance to build something with them again like we did when we were all young’uns in our careers. 💕 Creative pros need their local communities right now more than they have in a long time. I don’t know if this is timing or instinct, but I’m so glad we’re here for it.

Laurice Feller reacted on thisLaurice Feller reacted on thisI just relaunched my website, and it finally reflects everything I actually do. For years I've split my time between two things I love: building wine programs that feel true to the places they live in, and writing about the industry I work in every day. The new site brings both together in one place. On the wine curation side, you'll find case studies from programs I've built or stepped into — Carla's Fresh Market, Neighbors and Friends: The Kitchen, and Kismet — each one shaped by a different kind of brief, but all built around the same belief: I have no interest in boring, generic wine. On the writing side, there's a new home for the copywriting and content work I do for wine, food, and hospitality brands — newsletters, brand voice, editorial — plus my published bylines with Wine Enthusiast, VinePair, and Los Angeles Magazine. And if you want more of my voice on the regular, my newsletter Lavern's Fine Wine is linked there too. Take a look: https://lnkd.in/gk8eU-4n If you're building a wine program or need someone who actually knows this industry to write for your brand, let's talk.LaShea Delaney | Wine Consultant & Writer, Los AngelesLaShea Delaney | Wine Consultant & Writer, Los Angeles

Laurice Feller liked thisLaurice Feller liked thisSince 2020, Rare Beauty has been on a mission to help everyone celebrate their individuality. We aim to promote self-acceptance and give people the tools they need to feel less alone. Today, that commitment continues to drive everything we do. Over the past five years, Rare Beauty and the Rare Impact Fund have worked together to advance youth mental health and expand access to resources and support for young people around the world. Through the Rare Impact Fund, which receives 1% of Rare Beauty sales, our work now reaches 3.5 million young people annually. Our impact extends across everything we do. We’ve continued to create products with accessibility at the forefront, brought our community together through meaningful conversations about mental health and self-acceptance, and showed up to support communities during moments of crisis and uncertainty. In 2025, we also entered a new category with Rare Eau de Parfum, thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind. As we look ahead, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped move this work forward. None of it would be possible without our community, our partners, and the people who continue to believe in our mission. Read more about what we accomplished in the 2025 Rare Beauty Social Impact Report.

Laurice Feller reacted on thisLaurice Feller reacted on thisTo Whom It May Concern (probably you): I hereby resign, effective immediately, from my unofficial, unpaid job as Person Who Notices Your Typography. I didn’t apply. It happened decades ago when I spotted three different alignment styles on one restaurant menu, and I haven’t had a peaceful meal since. Turns out there’s a whole room of people with the same affliction, so I’m not sure I can easily quit this job. May as well go be insufferable among my peers.
