Corey Ferengul reposted thisCorey Ferengul reposted thisWrapping up Episode 40.... Here's exactly what I'd do first. Find any group with 3 or 4 people doing the same job. Walk in and ask one question: what can we automate? Not "who can we cut." Not "how fast can we deploy AI." Start by understanding what your people are already doing well, then figure out how to get AI doing that same work as well or better. You can't build an AI strategy on top of a team you just gutted. You need the humans first. The map comes before the automation. #AI #Leadership #Automation #AIStrategy #FutureOfWork #BusinessStrategy #ExecutiveLeadership #ArtificialIntelligence

Corey Ferengul shared thisOn the latest episode of The Aperiam Podcast, we sit down with Jake Vachal of The Raine Group to talk about the M&A landscape in ad tech and what founders need to understand right now. The regulatory environment has shifted, PE firms are hungry for liquidity, and AI just compressed a two-to-three-year market cycle into three months. If you're building a company and thinking about your next move, the window of what's possible is changing fast. Jake's take: companies are bought, not sold. If you don't already have a champion inside a strategic, your process is starting from behind. Worth a listen for any founder or operator in the space. https://lnkd.in/gB_36ccy #AdTech #MergersAndAcquisitions #StartupStrategy #PrivateEquity #DigitalAdvertising #AperiamPodcast #Founders #GrowthMarketing #MediaTech

Corey Ferengul shared thisI was excited to have Ann Perry on Momentum Mode. She has a wealth of experience in M&A and there is so much to learn!Corey Ferengul shared thisWrapping up Episode 38 of Momentum Mode 🎙️ One of the most surprising realities in M&A: sometimes companies actually pay someone to take a business off their hands. Ann Perry breaks down why that happens. When liabilities, operational costs, or long-term obligations outweigh the value of a business, shutting it down can actually cost more than selling it, even if that means paying the buyer to take it. It’s a fascinating look into the side of deals most people never see. Trust us, you’re not going to want to miss this one. #Podcast #BusinessStrategy #ProfessionalGrowth #ResearchDriven #Leadership

Corey Ferengul shared thisGEO - or Generative Engine Optimization - is one of the newest buzzwords and we dig into it. In the latest Aperiam Podcast we talk with Todd Sawicki, founder and CEO of Gumshoe.ai, to explore one of the most consequential and least understood shifts in marketing today: how AI search is changing the way brands are discovered, recommended, and perceived. In the episode we: - Break down why the concept of "ranking" is obsolete in an LLM world. - Discuss what it actually means for an AI to have brand preferences. - Explain why the brands that win will be the ones that treat AI like a digital sales rep they need to train. We also dig into why growth marketers — not search teams — are the ones best positioned to capitalize on this. Gumshoe surfaces what AI really thinks about your brand in 20 minutes. Corey Ferengul liked thisCorey Ferengul liked thisI got to Guest Lecture for Chris McGowan's PE Lab Class all about the evolution of PE Ops over the years on Monday night this week. It was a total joy to get to share my perspective! I ended my talk by sharing 6 things I've learned from being on the ops side for nearly 6 years. Here's what I said: 1. People who haven’t worked at or closely with a PE firm prior to taking an ops role take *AT LEAST* a year to learn the political ropes, and some never do. It's a really tough role to navigate/influence across in the lower middle market, and people don't give that enough credit. 2. Talent *needs to* live at the company, not be transient. This is the most critical way to add value and the best ROI, in my opinion. You can't just plug a hole at a portfolio company by doing the work for them; that muscle needs to live in great people who work at the company itself. 3. You can’t force a metrics mindset on someone. If you want to build KPIs that mean something, start together with a blank page. 4. Even if you are a "functional expert", you shouldn't box yourself into just that category alone when it comes to adding value. Learn how to be effective and add value outside of your "box". 5. You may be a lone wolf, but you are not alone. There are more people in these weird little PE Ops roles than ever before and there is enough pie for everyone to share - building and leaning on a community >>> having a scarcity mindset and going it alone. 6. Sometimes you need to create your own luck. If you want to do something, stop waiting for other people to start. You can figure it out.

Corey Ferengul liked thisCorey Ferengul liked thisExcited to share that I’m joining Sharp Pen Media as an advisor. I’m doing this because I believe in what they’re building, and they believe I can help. I bring operating experience as a founder, investor perspective across 80+ adtech companies, and industry visibility I’ve built along the way. That’s a natural fit for what Sharp Pen needs to grow to the next level. When Joe and I started Open Market, I introduced him to companies like tvScientific, Scope3, and Viant. I saw firsthand how Sharp Pen thinks about communications, and the results they drove. One conviction I have: in an AI-accelerated world, marketing and distribution are the new strategic advantages. Product differentiation compresses fast. The companies that break out will own their narrative. Joe and the team help make that happen, fast. If you’re an adtech founder or exec looking to build your voice, happy to make an introduction. And if you’re interested in joining the team: they’re hiring.

Corey Ferengul reacted on thisMy co-founder Keri Denise Richardson just made BizBash’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2026. I am not surprised. Keri has spent her career doing the hard work that most people only see from the outside; Super Bowl activations, ESSENCE Festival, NBA All-Star. The kind of work you feel in the room. The kind you can’t manufacture, and her words about it say everything: “We turn ideas into living art, work that can’t be prompt-engineered.” That is exactly why we started CrowdAxis. Because this industry has operated on instinct and PDFs for too long. What Keri and every great experiential producer has always known to be true deserves to be proven. The handshake should have the same credibility as the click. Building with the best. Congratulations, co-founder. We’re just getting started. #ExperientialMarketing #CrowdAxis #ExperientialPowerIndex #BizBash4040 #FounderLife #WomenInBusinessCorey Ferengul reacted on thisClass of 2026. Grateful as always. I’m honored to be amongst a group of risk takers and forward thinkers, steering the ship for experiential. We turn ideas into living art - work that can’t be prompt-engineered. And now, CrowdAxis is measuring what the industry has felt but never quantified. We’re giving the handshake the same credibility as the click. Thank you always to my support system for pushing me forward. And to my younger self: Bet on yourself sooner. Raise your hand before you feel ready. The path doesn’t have to be linear to lead somewhere meaningful. Thank you, BizBash. We’re just getting started. Read all about it here - https://lnkd.in/eqKkEmAk

“Corey is probably the most energetic and knowlegeable marketing execs I've ever worked with. No one will put in more hours and creative thought than he does. He must only sleep 1 hour a day. He is also very technical and a quick learner so he has the ability to discuss business issues on any industry and navigate through the complex need to merge the business and technical issues in a way that Sr. executives can understand. Corey is also a guy that makes things happen. If you are not interested in results, don't call on Corey. He delivers and delivers with high marks. I look forward to partnering with Corey again in the future.”

“AI will never replace humans. It will replace humans who don’t want to use AI.” - Bill Rossell This was one of many great tidbits from our webinar with Bill Rossell of LB Capital, LLC last week on Scaling Profits & Processes. 🔥 3 hot takeaways from the conversation: 1️⃣ Build a culture of sales across every role in every department. 2️⃣ Follow up on your estimates. 30% of people buy on day one. Another 43% buy between days 2 and 30. 3️⃣ Nail it then scale it. Get it right in one area first then expand with confidence. Agency M&A isn’t just busy… it’s accelerating. 🏃♀️💨 We’re seeing buyers move faster, compete harder, and pay premiums for agencies that are clear on what they do and who they serve. Why? Because growth is harder to achieve organically. 💼 Strategic acquirers are buying capability. 📈 PE-backed platforms are buying revenue. 🚀 Entrepreneurs are buying opportunity. This market belongs to founders who are ready to move. 🔥

Vultr’s three vectors for product-led growth 🚀 Explore NOW at #RAISESummit! theCUBE.net Tune into this #theCUBE + NYSE Wired exclusive from RAISE Summit, where our host John Furrier speaks with Kevin Cochrane, CMO at Vultr, about three vectors that fuel product-led growth for the company: leading with customer success, having an open ecosystem and helping developers build. “There are three primary vectors that fuel growth. Number one is we need to lead with customer success. Every single person and enterprise is now looking to deploy AI at scale, and they're looking to get a ROI from their AI initiative. As a vendor, we partner with our customers to help them down that golden path to success. Document how they achieve that success with all the technical architecture and show the rest of the world how they can follow that example,” Cochrane explains. “Vector number two is all about an open ecosystem. The world is moving fast. Everyone is innovating and we need to be certain that we provide a platform that enables people to compose a best of breed cloud stack – quickly, easy, at the lowest possible cost and harness an entire ecosystem of innovation. This is why we're here at RAISE,” he adds. “The third growth vector is you can't forget that developers matter. Developers are the innovators. This is why we're running a hackathon here at RAISE on building agentic AI systems. We're doubling down our focus on developers and providing educational content and hands-on training sessions to help them unlock a new future with our AI infrastructure,” Cochrane concludes. 📺 Tune in NOW! https://lnkd.in/dHRFGiPW Brian J. Venture Partners

The real cost of partnership: Is your venture partner helping—or holding back? Success in venture partnerships isn’t about just signing a deal. It’s about navigating the tension between trust and accountability. Partnerships often fail because expectations aren’t aligned early enough. Without clear roles and shared vision, friction grows silently. • Define non-negotiables before the first handshake • Demand transparency on motivations and limits • Build feedback loops that challenge, not comfort The struggle isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s the pressure shaping clarity. • Recognize when conflict signals growth, not collapse • Use tough conversations to reset boundaries and priorities The strongest venture partners don’t avoid struggle—they harness it. Partnerships that survive the hardest moments create the foundation for lasting success. What if the struggle you dread is the very force that will carve your future?

Marketing hype is sabotaging real AI. In this episode of AI for Business Owners Podcast, host Jeff Torello is joined by guests Brian H. Potts, Partner at Husch Blackwell and Co-Founder of Arbitrus.ai, and Kenny McLaren, Co-Founder of Arbitrus.ai, to examine how marketing hype is setting AI up to fail. The same tools used years ago are being rebranded as “AI” without any real change. What used to be a plugin is now an “AI feature.” That shift doesn’t improve the product. It just inflates expectations. When those expectations aren’t met, users lose trust in the entire field. This is how marketing damages real progress. The tech is evolving but not every update is innovation. Calling something “AI” doesn’t mean it’s new, smarter, or better. The value of AI depends on performance, not positioning. And performance only matters when it solves a real problem. 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/ePfaQXDv #AIHype #TechTruth #ProductMarketing #BusinessAI #ToolOrTrend #SmartInnovation #DigitalTools #StartupThinking
